Thread: tailor tissues question

I've read the FAQ section on tailor tissues, but am looking for specific clarification.

I know some tailored items can double up on a tissues mod to hit the +25 cap, what I need to know is how does this work? For example, from what I've read a decorative headdress needs 2 lots of 2 identical synth cloths, so to double up on one mod would it need 2 cloths in one slot (2 tissues in total) or 2 in each slot (4 tissues total). If it takes 2 in one slot, is it possible to double up on 2 different mods? eg, could one headdress take 2 enhanced myoflex tissues and 2 active biosensors?

to get +25 in a decorative headdress you'd need 4 +13 or better synthetic cloths.

yes, if you put 2 + medical healing cloths in one slot, and 2 + entertainer healing cloths in the other slot, you'd end up with a headdress that had pluses to both medical and entertainer healing.

Thanks for the reply, one other thing, if you put 2 +13 enhanced myoflex in one slot and 2 +13 active biosensors in another am I right in thinking it would result in +13 to entertainer and +13 to medic wound healing, rather than +25 to both? For the mods to stack they have to be in different slots rather than the same one?

That is correct.

so...I wanted to make the melee defense stuff, so I looked up my tensile resistance schem, collected the stuff, etc. And noticed the 'toughened fibers' schem, which seems to be just like the tensile resistance one but without one of the ingredients required (flora resource).

What's the deal? Is the second one broken, or does it have lower maxes or something? Thanks for any assistance.

answer is in the NEW FAQ (hehe, sorry, just wanted to say that, it's still under construction)

The answer though is that every tailor tissue has a basic and an advanced version. Naturally the advanced version requires more skill to make, more materials to make, and has higher stats.

ahhh, got you, thanks. I read through the stickies but didn't see an obvious answer. Grinding through the crafting stuff kinda makes that less obvious than it should be. Thank you. Now to make my first run of tailor tissues.

No offence: But that is why I dislike grinding approach. Crafters should live normal life, making all level goods while progressing, so that they come to Master level fully aware of their profession...

Sorry, just couldn't hold it (I almost never use practice mode while crafting).

Well he'll find that out when he tries to craft a pet...you cant "grind through" pet crafting, its something you gotta learn

Well anyone can follow a recipe. That's why I am reluctant to print full recipes of pets I make. I'm happy to guide people to what animals they may need, or what they need to consider during crafting but really it's something that if you learn yourself - it will benefit you a lot more.

I am relatively new to BE as well and that has always been a nagging question of mine. Is there any point to making the basic tailor tissues if you are a master? I haven't had anyone requesting those basic tissues and the ones I made while grinding have never sold.

If the advanced tissues can all be used in the same clothes as the basic tissues it seems kind of pointless to have them in there or are they just "filler" schematics?

Yes. Ordinary Myoflex uses less eggs than its enhanced version, which means if you can get the stat high enough, you can stack it with Enhanced Myoflex in clothes. I use to buy +16 enhanced myoflex and +9 myoflex from Nyria before she retired.

though I understand your point about the grinding approach, I find the grinding portion to be really boring. There's not much point in making anything except pets until you're a master, since most of the stuff doesn't sell. Pets are cool (and I did build/sell a bunch of em when I was grinding out the DNA tree) but the tissues and whatnot are virtually useless. My alt is a chef, but I don't want to waste really good resources on subquality tissues and foods that noone will ever buy.

Anyway, I think I'm getting the hang of tailor tissues...built a bunch of injury/wound treatment ones, and I'm thinking about pushing out a couple crates of light food additive before my alt drops master artisan. I also blew my first base not too long ago (hehe) and am pretty thoroughly liking the BE profession. Just wish I had more skill points available...it'd be nice if I could get novice ranger with it.

Thanks for the help, regardless. I try to read this forum regularly and have learned alot from it.
