something has to change.

playing a game isn't supposed to wreck you emotionally, it's supposed to be fun.

I just made the "perfect" dna template, and thenlost it when I tried to put into a skin.

All day yesterday i had no failures in any BE made item, kind of odd. Where are you making them at? If the server is lagging really bad you will get alot of failures i would suggest get a driod with a crafting unit and do the compiling on a planet that isn't lagging like talus.

It's no fun for an Architect to get a crit fail on a PA hall either...

I fully subscribe to this ... although in other words

Yesterday I had a bad series too. Started with a template for a pet with armor ... and had a crit fail during assembly. 5 DNA samples gone *sigh*

With a backpack full of samples I went back home and started making templates again. The first one was a crit failure (at the best crafting station available!). The next assembly worked but during experimentation 4 out of 10 experiments were failures ruining another great template. From the 8 templates I made only 1 (!) went through experimentation without failures. I really really really hope that with publish 7 this failure rate is considerably reduced. Spending hours getting the DNA you want and then loose all the effort due to crit fails or failures during experimentation is more than frustrating.

I feel all your pains my friends. Its very simular to Jedi life. Crit failing on an all pearl sabre. However, as i'm about to delve into the Bio engineer world, its sad to hear this class has a bad crit fail to success ratio.

May I suggest a case of Pyollian Cake. Nice bonus to assembly.

Actually, I have been working with several top armorsmiths and weaponsmiths, and they are making great use of the Pyollian Cakes when combined with Bespin Port which will add to the actual success rate on experimentation.

Heres what I do, before i make a template i make a micronutrient supplemant till i get a critical or if i get 8 micros i can combine the template without any failures. Yes that would get costly but when its a very important template its worth the 100 units of junk meat and junk flora.

Its VERY VERY unlikely you will get 2 failures back to back tahts why I do that.

At least the architects keep the components when that happens. think only the raw materials are lost and while thats quite a bit of ore and metal on a PA hall anything harvestable like that is easy to come by.

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

Actually Norda, you may be in fact increasing your chance of a crit fail. Someone with a lot of math background wrote a nice writeup onthe randomization seen in this game, I believe he was assuming use of the "rand()" function in Linux/Unix. What I got out of it was essentially that the "randomness" is certainly not "truly random", and that once you get into a "bad cycle" you are likely to see a rash of failures. So his conclusion was the exact opposite of yours. Do something where you don't care whether you fail or not (like surveying) and wait for a good string of successes, then try your experimentation or combine or whatever.

3 failures in a row? Was the area laggy?

To the person saying about the randomness, that might be so but the probability of getting 2 critical failures back to back is almost zero. Trust me i've tested this a lot of times and have never gotten 2 critical failures back to back.

Before that one patch yes you did get them but that was because it was bugged. I can find the patch notes that stated that but it should not happen now unless the server is lagging really bad ::cough:: dantooine, and even then TH did an experiment and found they didn't have very many failures.

hehehe, that's funny. That's like saying after you flip a coin and it comes up heads, the chances are better that that next one will be tails.
