Thread: What professions complement a MBE well?

I would like to make my way in SWG as a Master BioEngineer making and selling creatures, tissues, meds, and supplements. What professions would best supplement this? I have heard MBE/Master Ranger and MBE/MCH. But with these templates could I still have a vendor? Any recommendations would be helpful.

Thank you

If you primarily want to sell BE products then you'll need at least artisan xx3x to have a vendor - the survey line is also pretty much essential for flora harvesting.

Unfortunately that pretty well puts the mockers on Mastering another elite skill (unless it's something like tailoring - and then you are stuck with buying meat) and for that reason I personally gave up selling BE stuff and went MBE/MCH and0030Ranger (with that combo you don't need much money!).

An alternative strategy might be to team up with a merchant/artisan and use thier vendors (and bum flora off them) - that way you can go for any combo that takes your fancy. Many people take the "mule" option and buy another account (the mule does the Merchant/Artisan thing), I tried this for a while, but it got dull.

The vendor issue is one of the long list of BE gripes..............

I like my template alot, im MBE MCH master scout and xx3x ranger, but there are no skill points left for anything else, however with this template you can tame, you can train your pets for sale, and you can use the xx3x ranger to locate specific creatures for dna (mutant rancor etc..) instead of wandering aimlessly through harsh country and getting ripped apart hoping to stumble on one., also the mask scent is great, you can harvest your own meat . the only thing you realy on anyone for is flora mainly, but i make well enough money selling pets to buy it off the bazaar.

I would say the best profession by far would have to be master creature handler ! I have done this temp on 2 different times and gone back to it because of the fun it can be. Since being a master creature handler you could train the pets for other players who could not . I could go into it some more but from this stand point of having a good amount of time into this it is honestly a fun mix .

As a master Ranger/Master BE i'd note i'm pretty crazy, the Ranger part get's you the creature food parts but does leaving you lacking any actual combat abilities.

A better combination might be to "simply" master Scout and go hunting with a ranger in your group for huge bonuses to harvesting.

Ranger does also suck up skill points like there's no tomorrow

You can go MBE/MCH and Novice Merchant for a 750 item limit vendor if thats something you want.

If you want a permanent complimentary profession to MBE it has to be MCH without a doubt. Partake in the fruits of your labor.

If you want a temporary (respec) complimentary profession it has to be Smuggler. Feign death makes all the difference when sampling those high lvl critters to make those high lvl pets.

If you want to run a vendor, MCH / MBE and some points in medic, will give you CL58 or 57, else MCH/MBE medic 4x44 doc 4xxx, gives you very powerful healing abilities and a CL of 62, but no more vendor.

Here's my 2 cents and what i'm personally doing with my BE although I do love CH right now it's not the combat guru it once was, not sure if the improvements will make it better... but anyway i have a merchant friend that sells my wares. Here's what I am doing: Ranger 4030/MBE/BH 3000 ( the bh to help my new jedi no other reason) It's so funny how much this game has changed the most costly in skillpoints at one time BH has turned into the least costly in terms of skillpoints. It only takes the ranged tree and the explore tree, now anyone who is interested in getting DNA from pets already has this tree. now the reason for the ranger 4xxx is to get access to battle armor and get most of the movement costs reduced. And the xx3x is for finding animalsof course, the BH can be --3- instead for the concussion shot/kd as i said I am getting investigation because i wanna be able to get jedi missions and perhaps cover my butt or a friend's butt.

I'm a little confused on this , nowhere do you guys mention rifle or any type of weapon professions. how do you get combat points?
