Thread: The FACTS about today's nerf

1) Pets crafted with the effectiveness resist physique expermentation bug are now nerfed. Attempting to call them from the datapad gives you an invalid stats error message. If the pets are still in deed form they can still be tamed and trained but once they have been stored in your datapad you can not call them back out. You can still sample DNA from the bugged pet deeds.

2) The bug in the CL calculation has been fixed. I had several buigged pet deeds I was saving to test with. This morning I sampled DNA from by bugged pet deeds and created a new pet with them. The experimentation still works like it did before with every point into physique raising the resists but now the pet came out CL19 where it would have been CL7 before

3) It seems that >CL10 pets are mostly unaffected. I have several very powerfull pets in my datapad and was still able to call them including a CL34 Narglatch with light armor and 13k health.

It is unknown to me at this time how to craft nonCH pets that do not give the invalid stats message and I did not have time to do any testing if the nonCH pets made at 5k health by multi-generational DNA are still valid or not. I welcome any and all to fill in this information and whatever other facts they can discern about today's change to thecloning process. I would ask that flames and rants against SoE or the BE's that were selling these bugged pets be kept in other threads so this one can stay usefull with just the facts. I am hoping this thread will result in a consensus of the best process to craft nonCH pets now that the bugged CL calculation is fixed.

I will be very interested to see what if any decent non-CH pets can be created using this system, since this is the potential largest market for BE's. IF they are nothing more than a little bit better than wild, then I suspect that market will be non-existent.

I have been trying to create ANYTHING CL 10 or below with some kinetic resists since the fix and lowest thus far is a pretty pathetic CL12 Kaadu. This is all resampled creature stock DNA.

I am re-posting this information from another thread:

As a master Bio-Engineer I can confirm that after testing out about 20 pets:

Anythingequal or under level 27 with Light Armor is invalid

Anything equal or under25 with 10k Ham or better is invalid

Anything Level 10 or Under with Greater then 20% resists (Even 24%) is invalid

90% of 2nd generation pets are invalid

These are my findings as of 5 minutes ago with 20 some pets and testing what works and what doesnt. So since SOE is the raving bunch of cowards that they are and they wont actually tell us what is right and what isnt because they are afraid of having to actually have a backbone and stick to it, here is my preliminary findings. Looks like we, as the community, have to figure it out on our own... like always.

For me this statement is completely false.

I have 3 BE pets in my datapad I made:

CL 15 9k ham 15% resist..this one is a bit high on the ham but lousy dmg and slow speed

CL 19 10k ham 22% resists..this one is a bit overpowered

CL 20 7k ham 16% kinetic resist..this one is SOOO not overpowered..was keeping him because I liked the skin

Cannot call any of them from my data pad...only thing I can call is my mottled wrix I still had in there and my mount.

SOE this is possibly the dumbest fix you have done yet (and that is saying alot). Now that I have one pet and little combat power since BE/CH leaves little skill creds I cannot even hunt for some decent meat to make more tissues and pets with. Guess my 15 bucks will go to someone else now.

I can confirm that *most* pets I made yesterday (prior to the 01/08 hotfix) work. These pets were made using either the "dumb DNA in the psych slot", or 2nd generation DNA.

CL 28, 26, 36

HAM 11k/8k/8k, 10k/6k/7k, 10k/10k/9k

light armor (all)

damage 180-190, 250-260, 270-280

As far as I can tell, none of the resistances/armor have changed. 1 of the pets I made yesterday is "out of spec"... i had a crit fail on the psych which drastically lowered the CL (about 7 levels). I suspect that the ranges for experimentation have been tightened a bit.

The combat system will be 'balanced' when NPC's and PC's have the same HAM.

It might help to post complete stats and specials for thess. CL calculations are supposed to take everything into account, not just ham and kinetic resist.

with there was edit... I meant aggression on my previous post, not psych when talking about the crit failure.

Haha I wish there was edit as well so I could take back what I said about it seeming to be that >CL10 were mostly unaffected.... Looks like I may be spending the next few days making new pets for some of my previous customers. I was really liking the ability to get light armor on a pet down as low as CL22 and now it seems I will be re-doing those pets which is a bummer but I need to do it to protect my good reputation...

The pet I have that is "invalid" is

CL33, with 11/9/11k HAM. I suspect there may be a min CL for total HAM...

And I will re-post my reply to this..

Not true, I have 2 CL18 bols w/ AR1 that i can call. I don't think you can take anyone stat and apply a rule. Gotta be a combination of things. The bols both have very low mental and damage which must balance out the armor.

Talthazar: CL may be supposed to take all those things into account, but a lot of experimentation shows that it doesn't. Damage is one area that has been shown to be manipulable with no effect on CL.

And this really illustrates why we SO badly need official documentation. We can't know and report what is and isn't a bug until we know how the system is supposed to work. Should damage be affecting CL?
