How long does it take a factory to produce a production run?

Is there way to find out where it is on a run and can you interupt and restart a prodution run?

I'm pretty sure that once you flip the factory on, it runs until the schematic is out of charges or the input hopper is out of material. I don't think you can turn it off. So decide how many you want before you turn it on and only put enough resources in for that number.

You can turn it off anytime. The menu option comes up after you turn it on.

But there is no way of knowing how many items you produced so far while it's running.

Thanks I was worried that if I turned it off it would destroy the schematic and eat the remaining resources, but it does not.

Ok, I have heard rumors, and I was to know if anyone knows it is true. Can a factory producs stim paks? and which type would it be? My guess would be a food factory, but unsure.

You will need a Wearable factory, which can run anything made in a Clothing and Armor too So you can run your armor parts and tailor parts in the same factory.

I just tried to use factory last night (thanks to my Architect friend). I made a Synthetic Cloth schematic which I prepared a lot of resource for that. I was worried about how long it will take and I might not have enough money to maintain the factory, so I only set the schematic to make 50 items.

I choosed the schematic at the factory, dumbed more than enough resource into it, then click Start manufacture. After 2 hour or so (server was down at that time, so don't exactly know how long it take), I got the email that the process is finished. I happily go get my crates of SC out. Input hover still has some material left.

Then I am thinking to make 50 more items again. But the factory didn't allow me, even I put enough resource (and of course same kind of the schematic), the factory don't have the option to start.

What did I do wrong? Do I need to make a new schematic, and the factory will detect it and allow me to choose the schematic first?

Thanks.

Most likely the new schematic isn't using the same resource as the old one. It should still let you start it though, just shuts off when it realizes it doesn't have the proper resource. Never seen anyone not have the "Start Manufacturing" radial before.

You do gain xp, though its at a MUCH slower rate (I've heard 50%)

You get 100% of this xp. I dont know if this is as intended or not, but you do.

However to get the xp you have to be relatively near the factory. So sit next to it and sample to save your finger some work.

(Yes factories crafter slower than you can yourself)
