I don't have alot of experience with crafting, but OMG I'll be here for days just grinding away. That's assuming I have enough resources.

I need to know what is the best item to craft based on XP/Resouces Used in the post patch world.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Grinding is supposed to take ages... thats why it's called grinding The idea is that it should take you anything up to a month of semi-regular grinding to reach master or anything up to 6 months if you're a casual player.

After grinding out 60,000 BE crafting XP to get Tissue II and Experimentation II (or wahtever it is actually called) makign constrictor cloth and micronutrient supplements I have the same question. What provides the best xp versus resource? I keep trying to find some BE schematic that doesnt require harvested resources but I don't think there is one...

best thing to do is just make 1 of each item on practice mode and caculate how much XP it gives you, then concentrate on getting the resources for the best one..

best to avoid ones with fish or that elusive milk.. hehe.

So I had a thought. If I focus on Engineering Techniques, will this increase the quality of the items I make? So if i have Engineering Techniques II I could make better Constrictor Cloth thenif I have Engineering Techniques I?

I make a bunch of good constrictor cloth and give it to as many Tailors as I can find. They add it to their field wear and I get XP from that. Is this perhaps how the BE Dev envisioned it would work?

Ideas?

Well user exp from consumables (assuming that is what tissues are classed as) is an addtional 50% of the exp from making it, other items are 150%. I'm not sure what the tissues fall under at the moment.

I agree with Ziv as I used that to grind most of my way to master. It only yields 6.8 xp per meat (as opposed to 7 with micronutrient sups), and will take a little more meat. But considering every 3 you do is like 4 micros, it seems to sure go alot faster. I reccomend having 5 crafting tools and to be away from a crafting station when you do this though.

I used scent camo... get harvestor on flowers, get one on wood, get alot of meats, I can grind out 80K in about hour and half, thats 8-9K every ten minutes... this is the fastest, but it will cost you some credits.

A rule of thumb to use (For Tissue tree):

Total resources x 2 = Experience

So if something takes 20u meat, 20u bone, 20u hide, thats 60u x 2 = 120 exp

If you put it into practice mode you get like 6-10% extra exp on top of that. BE is a rough tree to grind up since 3 of the 4 skillboxes require the same experience. I myself do not grind anything under 50u total as its not time effective.

I ground micro nutrient supplements. I think in practice mode that each one was 104xp. It took over a week to get all of the grinding done, and it used the least meat of anything else that I could grind.

In the current system the sampling of dna is pure hell. Much harder than the crafting.

constrictor cloth, and do it with 6-7 tools at once, setup starting macros to start the tool and load the correct schematic and a finishing macro to do the steps after picking the resources and starting the practice session.

wont take long at all if you do those. here are my examples:

/ui action toolbarSlot12;/selectDrafSchematic08;

the draftschematicnumber you are going to have to figure out yourself, it's different with/without station and with/without specialized tool and from person to person depending on order and amount of schemas they have had/have.

then just vary the slot number and make a starting macro for each tool in the F1-F8 slots and put the tools in the shift-F1 to shift-F8 slots below them, put the finishing macro in F9

finishing macro:

/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/createPrototype Practice noitem;/createPrototype Practice noitem;

the capitalizations need to be _just_ so

then you just hit F1, double click on ingredients, hit F9
hit F2, double click on ingredients, hit F9
hit F3, double click on ingredients, hit F9
.
.
hit F8, double click on ingredients, hit F9

rinse, repeat

go train the next skills now and then so you dont hit the cap, easier if you train cloning IV first then your cap is high enough to train all of tissues and then all of techniques at once.

be ware tho, no matter how much you grind, you'll still have to advance through sampling.. and that will take a while

Oaktree and Ziv - How did you grind scent camo? It's Complexity 21, which I personally can't access without having a crafting station nearby. And with the station nearby, my grinding macro fails due to experimentation. Is there a change to my macro I can make? Or did the complexity change recently? Or did you do your grinding without a macro? I'm very confused.

Alila -

Why would I use constrictor cloth? It requires 30 units of creature resources (105 exp), vs. 15 for micronutrients (104 exp). Flora is basically free, while critter stuff costs either credits or time. Please explain.
