Thread: Minimum-CL for BE-Mounts
i am curious at what CL a pet-pet can be mounted.
All I know is that at CL10 Dewback, Falumpasets and Bracksets can be mounted.

brackaset (<10)
dewback (10)
falumpaset (<10)
Does anybody know the minium-CL for brackasets and Falumpaset?
Like: will a CL8 Falum be mountable when adult?
And A CL9 is not mountable?
For the "broke" mounts like bantha, bol, cu pa, kaadu and spat it would be interesting to know the minimum-CL also
Even a hint like "Bantha CL12 is not mountable" will be helpfull, because if we all put the info we have together we maybe find out the minimum-CL for all mounts
Thats a very very good idea Bel. I like it - will try and make up some level 10-20's on Bloodfin to grow. I'll take Banthas b/c they are my favorite. Mind you everyone else will have the answers posted here before i'm done I'm sure ...
Bel - it has been reported thatbrackasets are notmountable at level 10 anymore either so it is on falumps and dewys
Can somebody verify this?
And i thought 3 is to low already

The post about it was here(and in the same thread of course - i think 2 different people reported - i haven't made any myself tho).
I do hope we don't lose anything more. This size issue is a big one isn't it ![]()

There are reports on the CH forum that a BE non-ch pet was tamed and worked with but not growing and another about a BE CH pet not growing in the new system as compared to wild tames.
It looks like BE pets may not have been included in the new coding as far as size goes. I have 4 BE pets I'm working with on Cin, as she is only novice CH these are low level pets (CL10-12). I do have one CL12 that does not gain any training xp no matter what we fight. I don't group with him so that my might CL18 does not adversely effect him and we are taking on CL 18-22 critters. Sadly he does not get any training xp. I thought perhaps this was because he has specials from the old system but my CL10 gains xp although he only has one special from the old system. Need to try to train the other two as they both have 2 old specials.
Grrrrrr. Hope having specials from the old system will not prohibit my pets from learning the new abilities.
the rest makes sense... for example, fambaa, which used to be CL35, now get huge at (cloned) CL70... whereas kimogilas, which start at CLhigh and go up, are small at (cloned) CL70.
I'm not sure I agree with the numbers on some of those, however... cu pas, for instance, do NOT seem to be '50%' of normal size at (cloned) CL10 (they seem a LOT smaller than that); hence, my comments about 'cu paskates'. bols SEEM to run a similar variance to dewbacks (larger, yes, but not significantly so, and 'lesser plains bols' never got that big anyway), and they're unmountable at CL10... but they might be REALLY close to taking a saddle.
I wonder how much CL variation WITHIN a skin matters? fambaa only come in one CL. 'razor cats' come in various CL's (and sizes, from 'razor cat' to 'mire marauder'). cu pa's come in 'regular' and 'big' (the 'wasteland' variant).
Snuggles was DEFINATLEY growing - I was suprised how fast he was getting bigger. He started out about knee height and he stopped when he was up to my shoulders but Dor is a short character. I'm not entirely sure if he was made and tamed before or after the new code went in. I'm going to make a new level 23 and see how that one does.
Cin - that is really troubling about your pet not getting xp ... Snuggles doesn't update in pet xp when I am looking at him on the datapad but if i move off him and back it updates but I know you and when you mean NO xp you really do mean NO xp.
I'm pleased with the AI and both my wild tames AND my BE pets - as long as you don't tell the pet to change targets they are just fine and I'm happy to use them that way. I accidently set Snuggles on a lair and he kept going at it but he did come away when I asked him to follow ... the problem was that he kept going back to it. I think next time if i ever do something so silly, i will call him off and ask him to chase another team member or myself and see if that stops him from re-attacking.

Well that's the thing - the cu pa number seemed just WRONG to me too. I remembered your cu pa skates remark too. swgcreatures.com has the wasteland cu pa listed at level 20 (two people seem to think this is right according to the comments). However if there is some other cu pa out there that nobody has charted ... also theformula iwas using might be just dead wrong.
I've done it now for all the animals we can make and it fits for the razor cats as far as I can see. That would be the one to see if you have to be called razor cat to be counted - i suspect you do since your mire marauder comes in level 56 which wouldn't let the level 70's get to the huge size they do if that was true.
As usual ... needs more testing... dum de dum ...

ACK!!! I was cycling through targets and had inadvertently stopped on some Drall when I pressed enter to send my command. Although the Drall were quite a ways away (120m) the pets went after them. They did come back when called but I could not set them on another target as they would go after the Drall. The fix was to go about 250m away and set them on a new target.

i find that if i want to switch targets i just spam the attack macro, after 4 or 5 hits it nearly always switches targets for me, only problem is once the new target is dead the pet automatically chases after the original target

I really haven't had problems switching targets. I have spent some quality time "gurking" to grind xp to learn abilities, and the pets seem to do what I tell them to do. {shocking, isn't it lol} If they feel like being stupid, a second press on the attack that / come here button seems to do the trick. If you send them after a lair and then send them aftera mob, they do like to go back to the lair after the mob is dead. /shurg. Telling them to come a few more times does the trick. Same as my rl dog: he doesn't listen to me either! lol
