Question:

I bought a BE rancor off a vendor a while back, not knowing I would need high CH skills to tame it. I've now earned the needed CH skills, but everytime I try to tame it I get a message that says "You have too many active pets, you will have to store one before you tame another." I get this message whether I am in a camp, or my house, or a city. I tried dropping the beast in my house and taming there, same deal. I used the /tame command and got the message "you can't tame that".

I'd appreciate any help you can provide on this, I've been wanting to break that bad boy out and see him wreak havoc!

You need master to tame it unless you're a wookie, I believe. BE enhanced clothing that gives +10 or greater to taming would probably work if you had Taming IV also.

Hmm I am 4,4,0,4 in CH. Am I pulling another n00b? I was under the impression that I could tame rancors at that skill level.

You can tame rancors at that skill level. No idea why that one is untamable to you though. Maybe it's a glitch or bug in that particular rancor.

Is your Datapad full?

being a wookie don't mean Jack like did a patch or 3 ago. add up you critters or delete one and try it.

u need 4-4-4-4 to tame rancor i think u can only use a gnarled rancor at 4-4-0-4

Not correct, that's almost the exact skill I had. Actually I had 4-4-2-4 but empathy 2 adds nothing to control level. Did you have other pets called when you tried this? There is really no reason you should not be able to tame a rancor at that level. I did both a clone and a wild rancor at that level and I'm not a wookie.

Under the current system, you need 4-4-0-4 or 4-4-4-0 to tame a rancor. Taming 4 gives you 50 max level of pet. Training 4 gives you 45 max number of pet levels. Emapthy 4 and Management 4 give 5 max number of pet levels each.

Bohdi, sounds like you have the right skills needed (+50 to max number of pet levels and +50 level of pets). Sometimes I'd get a bug where even after storing a pet the game would think I still had one out, and this woulf last until I completely logged out of the game for 15 mins or so and logged back in. Have you tried logging out ofr a while and trying again?

sounds to me like your Datapad might be full.

Have you reached your maximum allowed pets for your lvl?

I have had the Problem Missletoad brings up many a times .. My datapad Stopes refreshing and i have to log out for a few minutes 5 or so . to get it to work . but again at that time also it affects my Waypoints and everything .. so i doubt that is your problem . but something to consider.

My creatures get locked up so to speak, and i can't store them nor bring them out and if i try to tame i get the same mesage . but i am Very used to that message as time has gone by.

You have the skill. Like the rest said, you datapad is most likely full.
