As far as getting up to and something the youths of these wonderful creatures (at least their stat are! ) is it necessary to have Master Ranger/Dath Camo/Wayfaring IV/Master scout, or whatnot. I realize that a full suit of MS stuff helps, but at 4/0/4/0 scout, do I have a realistic chance of grabbing some samples? If not, How do I change that?

It may be my bad luck, but I have never gotten a sample off anything 13k HAM or higher. I tryed to sample a Plainewalker for 30 mins, nothing but aggro's for my time.

they are non-aggressive so dont need to use maskscent to get in range to sample

Young Malkloc Plainswalkers are sampleable at Master Bioengineer with Expolaration IV. I do it all the time. Finding them reliably is the hard part.

They are a pain for me to kill as a Master Fencer though when they aggro.

Surefoot Brackasets work well for the non-fortitude slots too

Paying 50K for waypoint to one or more Young Malkloc Plainswalkers on Flurry if you find one when I'm online =P

The Young ones are around CL55 or something as I recall. However the plainswalkers are exceptionally rare, I have spent alot of time on Dath and even with my ranger tracking skills scanning a 500m radius I have only ever seen then once since they were introduced to the game. If anyone knows of a common spawning ground I'm sure we'd all like to hear about it. Oh and don't let the names for them fool you, they're not limited to open plains cause I saw my first ones in just outside the Rancor Plains forest to the south.

I have seen them 2 places. Once on the rancor plains and once in the desert on the far south of the map, in the old graul spawning area.

I sample the Young Plainswalkers all the time. It is very rare I go to get some and come back empty handed. As others have stated, best bet is in the south. Bring up the Tarpits POI as a waypoint, go therethen just head west all the way to near the edge of the map. If I dont find any, head south about 1k then head back east. With a sweeping search like this, I can usually find them in less than 30 mins easy.

They dont spawn out of a lair, it is usually just 2 creatures, one young then either a female /or BIG one. I have encountered them in the Rancor area on a few occasionsbut I cant remember if it was a lair or not (all 3 together at same timebutdo they even have lairs - not sure?).

The fact they're called Plainswalkers seem to suggest they don't have lairs like normal Malkloc. It's odd, i don't think there is another species in the game which spawns like that. I think we need to ask for the devs to ask for more like that cause it does make things kinda fun rather than milking lairs over and over.

Wish I'd known they were so good. There is aarea about 4000m west of the northern outpost where I see them quite a bit. Its also the are I hunt for Mutant Rancors. It seems to have lots of mutants, enraged and bull rancors.

had my first encounter with the large ones the other day. 35k ham 100% kinetic resists on the male..god, i'd love to sample that, 3 of those samples anywhere and no matter what, you're maxed on kinetic. hm...females same resist but 16k ham i think. i saw nearly half a dozen, all going at each other somehow, even though they aren't agro, must have an AOE attack.

I was under the impression that our sampling cap was at CL75, making all but the Young Plainswalkers unsamplable? But good god if its not, I'm grabbing me some enraged rancor and enraged bull rancor DNA tonight. Ah, one day even the Kray shall fall to my needle if that's true.

Your right Tal, they don't spawn in lairs, they just spawn "loose". Try down around the Tar Pit to the far south, I've seen them there a lot. They don't seem as common around the Sarlacc...
