Thread: Tissues and titles and birds.. oh my..

OK, so we have this cloning system in and the glitches are mostly being ironed out, it's functional at least now and we know the devs have started working on a few others thing. So for Talthazar I'd like to ask a few things. We know that chefs are getting alot of attention this month, there has also been statements made that bio-engineers are getting a whole range of new food additive tissues but while the Chef correspondant has been given a number of examples of what the new food does we have yet to be told anything about these new food additives. Given at how it sounds like their food is going to be designed to take multiple additives based on the type of food this is and given that skill enhancers are now part of food when it was originally our domain does this mean that we make the skill enhancing parts of food or do we simply further enhance the existing stats within the food?

Secondly, the Breeder title. I think this was a minor irritation with people since it really is a terrible title and totally inaccurate. 'Cloner' was the preferred suggestion as I recall. On the issue of titles a personal request here, why is the Tissues line called Tissues when it now contains alot of generally non-tissue like things. A more suitable title for that would be Consumer Biologicals or something to that effect.

Lastly, birds.. and I don't mean a chauvanistic term for women. I mean the fact that we find ourselves totally without ANY flying species out of our 66 possible bodies. There is a huge amount of such species out there from the lowly Flewt to the mighty Mantigrue. Almost every planet has at least2 flying species so I find it highly unlikely that Keldarin can say it'd be intruding into types of animals reserved for CHs. That kind of intrusion isn't a valid excuse anyway since it's us who supply them with pets, the CHs don't really get involved in selling pets now since they are in a pet training role that has been their purpose originally anyway. Some snakes wouldn't go amiss either however there is only 3 types in the game as I recall.

I used to tame birds just because they are cool - there's one species that has babies(cannot remember the name now, is lvl 6 full grown)- wish the horned rasp, precussive rasp and song rasp could have tamable babiestoo, as they are nicely coloured. My dancer char has one of the tamable types. Once was even thinking about going MCH with her just to have 3 birds when she danced, but then reality told me that I shouldn't waste skill points so badly. I would still love to be able to create multi coloured rasp skins.. even if "they" (re: SOE) put a cl limit on the skin.

1. I'd LOVE to see the "Breeder" title replaced with a "Mad Scientist" title Seriously

2. The Tissue line should be renamed "Biotechnology" or "Biotech Engineering". It fit's in with what that line is doing much better than "Tissues" IMO.

3. YES! Some of the bird models are WAY cool and it's a real disappointment not to be able to make them (and snakes). The only thing I can think of as to why we cant is that some of the CH "rares" are flying models and if we can spit them out they may feel even more undervalued than they already do...

Last night while in coronet, i got asked twice (yes, in the 2 minutes i had to wait for shuttle) if i could make flying creatures, and if so, if i can make them one. I, unfortunately, had to say no

Just earlier today I was talking with my dancer friend, and she was wanting this very thing.. Birds to hang out while she danced.. I dont see any reason why they cant introduce cl0 pets into the game, that cannot attack, or be attacked.. They are just there for decoration. I know quite a few entertainers that would jump at the chance to have 2 or 3 actual "pets" hanging out while they perform.

I agree on all three points

I would like to add that DNA storage is becoming a HUGE issue for me now and would like to see the Dev's at least acknowledge the "Blood sampling" idea.

Small Tamable bird is the Horned Rasp. Peko Peko's were popular with Novice CH's until the creature fix. There are some fling reptiles I would love to clone.

You know.. that doesn't surprize me in the slightest Talth. Someone give Keldarin a slap and tell him to get with the program. SOE is supposed to be communicating with the correspondants. Talth if I were in your position and was being ignored by the profession dev then I'd go right to Thunderheart and ask what was going on cause it's making THs job harder too by needing to prompt again and again for the same answers to long standing questions.

SirVimes gets answers from GreenMarine so he can post them in 48 hours yet we often can't even get a reply from Keldarin. Keldarin needs to get on the stick and care a little more about customer service. I've given up on the management team actually acting to make their people work at a consistently high level.

Chefs already know more about their unreleased system than we do about our cloning system that was launched a month ago. In fact, more than we knew about the previous cloning system that was in the game for 6 months...

Actually, I'm not sure who coded the Chef related BE stuff. For all I know it was GreenMarine.

Not an excuse for the poor communication, but im sure I read in another thread that Keldarin is also the combat dev. Along with BE and I presume CH, he must be working on 8+ professions! Overhaul of the combat system is the next big thing, maybe he is so overworked he literally doesnt have time to respond!?

I personally like the breeder title. No one can tell me they haven't thought about putting that title on before going into a cantina and trying to get some afk twi'lik.
