Thread: Need mount clarification
A pet needs to be 60% grown to be trained as a mount. This is from all the info on TC. Not sure though what cl a bol is at 60% growth.
Yeah.. lots of misinformation that I had regardling some mount levels from a CH on the TC is appearing to be misleading :/
We're still trying to figure out what's going on with the Bols :/
Scorus,
There are supposed to be level 10 creatures tameable by CH for all the 6 mounts, but from BE it will only be Kaadu and Carrion Spat that are for Non-CH.
i read something about a "Grow Mount" option which supposedly made creatures cap at cl 10. this is a different command from "Train as Mount," but i dont know if its still there since they added cl 10 versions of all the creatures. i immagine the command would only work on creatures on their first or second growth stage so i wouldnt know since my mount was fully grown weeks ago in prep.
i will make atrash kaadu next time i am on and see if i can shed some light on this.
Apparently while there is a minimum size for a mount there is _also_ a maximum. If your pet (and this will only apply to those with CH skills I imagine) can grow beyond its maximum size to be used as a mount (and is currently trained as a mount) the system will (at the correct size) allow you to halt its growth completely - thus stopping it from becoming unusable as a mount.
Take a Brakenset, CL 26. At growth cycle 6, it would be CL 12
Every 12 hours it would go 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 26
How could you stop that at CL 10? let alone the bol which would be CL 18 at that time... if it actually would work.
I will assume that to be incorrect.
Here is what I experienced last night ... I'm 1 0 3 0 BE and 1 1 0 0 CH
I had a bio-eng dewback (CL 18) that I had made andtamed a couple days ago and last night logged in and had a master CH train him as a mount. The dewback was lvl 3 at the time and thus the 60% thing is not correct. I then took a Kaadu deed and gave it to a master CH to train. He was able to train it completely except for Mount. He checked with his guildmates and informed me that the creature must be greater than level 1 in order to be trained as a mount. I'll find out for sure tonight when I try again but it sounds correct.
I seriously doubt the mounts will stop growing at lvl 10.
If it's true that the devs put non-CH level baby versions out of creatures that were not previously available then that's crap but it would be nice if one of the devs would speak on this.
I also noticed that it sometimes would take calling my dewey out a few times before he would appear with his saddle. Just an annoying bug.

I saw the grow as mount' thread on TC too, but have yet talked to anyone to confirm this and have given some mid lvl Kaduu's to a MCH friend they dont have any option at all.
I do know somewhere down the line we are supposed to be able to alter a CL lvl of a clone we create so we may have to wait for this to be implemented.
I created a spat a few days previous that made level 6 today (which is precisely 60% grown). I logged on, noticed it was level 6, and immediately trained it. All was well and good, until I realized that the HAM on Shadowfax was 700-something, instead of the maxxed-out 1200 that it was supposed to be.
It turns out, though, that mount-training DOES NOT...I repeat...DOES NOT halt creature growth. Making a creature a mount only gives it a saddle; it'll still grow to maturity, whether you want it to or not. What that means to us who have ground out to empathy 4 is that we still need an MCH (or just any CH with Management 4) to train the transfer command to any non-CH mounts we want to sell.
So anyway, the point of my post...
TRAINING A CREATURE AS A MOUNT DOES NOT STOP IT FROM GROWING TO MATURITY!!!
