Meaning how can you accuse someone of duping when you go and buy it thus meaning they benefitted from it and will therefore do it again. It's kinda like the 100 units of milk someone on Ahazi was recently trying to sell for 5 million credits.

Please dont come and look for solace here - you are almost 100 percent certain it was duped - you know that to be the case - and your reaction is to purchase anyway. Thus perpetuating the problem.

Ahhhh... so I'm the bad guy. I think I get it now.

I musta caught that evil bug thats going around.. here I thought I was bringing a peculair situation to light, in a community that fish matter to... but naw, I'm a bad guy for pulling it out of the market to sit in a back pack rather than flooding/destroying the market a good number of BE's have established for legit fish.

Or was I supposed to CSR ticket it? Wait... CSR tickets have been down and unavailable since the patch.

None of that was directed at you Tal-N, know how we two get along /chuckle, just irks me that I thought I was doing the correct thing by getting it OUT of the market at a rather steep price out of my pocket, and this person casts negative aspirations as to my reputation. I can gaurantee that if I didn't buy this, someone else may have and been 'mum is the word' about it. Even as much as we disagree about alot of things, I'm sure you'll agree that I do have moral principles that aren't terribly shady. This dream stack of fish sits in my backpack rotting... I could destroy it, but then a CSR could look at my existing D Stims and wonder, but with vendor emails to back up the purchases and the amounts it'll sit there as insurance, and hopefully I got it all off the market so the luxury item (read: highly valued and novel) in our pet stim line won't become worthless on Intrepid.

The long and the short of it, and perhaps I should have approached it this way for the community, is sometime recently a resource duping bug became available on live servers involving the bazaar interface. I do NOT know how to work it, so don't bother asking... I just know it involves the bazaar terminal and resources. Intrepid has had some very suspicious auctions recently, along with oddball resources like this 3 shift old fish pop up (Milk is another one, though I haven't found massive quantities of it openly for sale). Not sure if the dupe is closed yet (saw it mentioned in a dev post but it wasn't stated if this dupe is the one cheats are using), but don't be surprised if you see a huge influx of hard to find, extinct resources on your server.

If you were intending to do the 'right' thing you would have destroyed it already rather than having it sitting in your backpack where it's a temptation to fall to the Dark side. Also look at your post again and see it as we do, there was no indications that you were planning on destorying it.. as you said it's just sitting there at the moment and you dunno how you feel about that.

However if you did this in an effort to prevent this kinda thing then your logic is flawed. Ths duper has now successfully removed the evidence thanks to your help plus they have the hard cash from the sale. You might have felt you were doing the right thing however in the long run the duper has come out of this better off. I would have been better to just left it there and reported them to a CSR (not that they'll bother acting on it)

No Sumo it dont make you the bad guy - and if you bought it to get it off the market I dont see why that would bother you so much, also you failed to mention that was your approach in the initial message unless I am mistaken. I have to admit having read many of your previous posts I was a little surprised - what would I have done in the same situation - not sure to be honest. But buying it to "get it off the market" would probably not be my first choice. Now you are the proud owner of 47k of duped fish - I guess your dilemma continues.

Frankly since the duper has already won you may as well put the fish to good use, make up a load of stim Cs and give them away to a few friends or sell them at a severe discount to just cover the costs of the other materials. At least that way you can put all of those resources to the benefit of the community.

Tal-N the reason I don't destroy it is because *if* I get sucked into a CSR investigation I want the fish there and available. I don't want the CSR to seize or destroy the legitimate D's I have crafted (with this exact same fish because it is AWESOME fish) thinking the bad fish were used to craft them. I paid 100 credits a unit for this fish when it was still live on the servers and the other resources I used for the subcomponentsare incredibly expensive(Irkov - VERY old tat fiberplast, Awovoo - great herbivore meat from shifts ago, very very very old Dantooine fiberplast, Elocre - very old Dantooine berry fruit).

The duper hasn't won Tal-N. I have vendor emails, this wasn't a face to face transaction. So I have the fish and I have the papertrail to point back to a source. The only thing the duper has won is some cash from me... but even if they don't get busted (and assuming the dupe is closed) I've managed to keep pet stim d's rare (which they have always been)... I guess assuming 350k of the stuff didn't get sold to other people.

I may have come off harsh earlier.. have to forgive me, pushing very very hard to Master Doctor on my second account in my quest for Jedi (this should be my last or next to last profession if the trend holds compared to other existing Jedi) and been arguing all night on the server board / tells / etc. Hehe reread my initial post and yeah I wasn't very clear. Sometimes I beat around the bush too much thinking people will get the underlying (or in this case, horribly obfuscated) meaning... its a fault of mine, I'm hopelessly convinced I"m clever
