As another MBE on Intrepid, I think Sumo is exactly doing the right thing here. I would also have gladly spent half a million to just pull that crap off the market and not let it screw with the bio engineering economy of the server.

As for whether or not a CSR will do anything about it...I believe that if players continue to report this specific issue, back it up with facts (as it appears Sumo has done, with records of the transactions and the fish still in stock) that yes, eventually the player responsible will be warned/suspended/banned. If I didn't believe this, I'd have left SWG by this point. Right now, their team is swamped with serious game issues and many people are getting away with things that they should not. With persistence, they will eventually get to it. Don't let it drop, and this person will get banned. In the future, as things calm down, you will find it will happen faster and more often.

Six months ago I was still playing Everquest, another SOE product, and had played it for 4 years. At the time I noticed a half dozen/dozen players consistently cheating, using an out of zone spot to safely kill things and gain XP. I reported it daily, and would check for it several times a day. Eventually, weeks later, I received a tell from a GM asking a few more detailed questions. Then I never saw those players there again. Soon after, I read a shocking post from one of my guildmembers...that he had been banned from the game for using exactly this exploit, along with many other players from other guilds. He was in tears, he had spent 4 years building/playing/being this character, and it was all gone just like that. He admited to using the exploit, appologized for it, and said he'd only done it a small number of times and knew it was wrong. He had no idea it was me who had been reporting people for just this (and I had never seen him there or would have called him out), and I felt horrible for a short time until I thought about it some more. He was a good person, but in the end, be prepared to lose everything if you want to cheat, even just once. I'd report it again.

At least in SWG, this fish guy only has a fewmonths max invested.

well sumo you could tell something fishy was going on...

the harm that will come from using these fish meat of questionable origin? well just using 100 fish meat per hour (which of course isvery high) thats 470 man hours of fishing that people didnt have to waste their time on -about 12 people working a full time job for a week. in the end you will of course have even more meaningless credits in the bank accountbut the realresult isquite a few creature handlers will enjoy the game that much more. honestly not sure if a person duping fish meats should be labeled an exploiter or a good samaritan but either way at least you will be providing something of actual value unlike the bioengineers selling kaadu for 50k lately.

the game is designed with limited to nonexistant customer service and no in game policing.i doubt 47k ofall types of fish meatare generated in one shift on any server no matter how many tournaments etc are held - this is about as obvious a red flagas there could possibly be if there was any real interest in policing for duping. of course with the reactionary fashion the game is managed its never the exploiters that are punished only those that havent taken advantage of things while they had the chance.

so after all that my only real opinion is that its a great time to be a creature handler on intrepid

I have a little mixed feelings on this issue as well. The main problem with dupers is that destroy the economy by driving the prices of rare materials down. (ie good copper isn't worth mining because I can just dupe the better copper I got a month ago.).

that being said what happens to resources that are rare to begin with, for no good reason. The only reason these "underground milk auctions" happen (1million for 100 units of milk is the average I've seen) is if they sold larger quantities they'd be caught. I don't condone duping but I have been severely tempted to buy milk. mollusk and other rare quantities from back alley suppliers.

In the same position I think I would have done the same thing, just as I have often bought large amounts of resources whenever I've seen them way below the market norm.
