Not sure about how others do it, but I have a semi-logical scheme that I use, though I mostly sell CH level pets.

Average HAM as a base +1k for armor (if present) + 500 for Kinetic 40 - 50/200 for Kinetic 50 - 60 + 500 forEnergy 40 - 50/200 forEnergy 50 - 60 + 500 per every 100 damage + 500 foreach specialand ranged attack= price!

Let's throw out some stats for an example.

Gurrcat

CL: 30

H: 7128

A: 6924

M: 7024

Armour: Light

Kinetic: 55

Energy: 45

Blast: 65

Acid: 65

Heat: 80

Cold: 80

Electricity: 30

Stun: 25

Attack Speed: 2.1

Damage: 210 - 220

Special Attack 1: Knockdown

Special Attack 2: Mild Poison

Ranged Attack: Yes

7000 + 1000 +500 + 500 + 1000 + 500 + 500 + 500 = 11500 credits for the above Gurrcat. It seems complex at first, but after pricing your first few creatures, it flies. Hopefully this helps you a bit.

BE Calc a cool little program that you can just toss the numbers into and it gives you the price.

Try that.

WOW. 11500? That pet could easily sell for 50k on Kauri. What is calculated in this pet to make it such a low price?

Just for fun I ran Naica's Gurrcat through the BE Calculator with the following results (I gave it a To Hit of .33):

CL 30
Total resists = 25630
Armor bonus = 20000
Ranged bonus = 5000
H: [email protected] A: [email protected] M: [email protected] for total= 5277
Damage 210 at 25 per point = 5250
To Hit is 0.33 at 125 per point = 4125
Attack speed is 2.10 at 100 per point = 9000
Special Attack 1 is Knockdown : 5000
Special Attack 2 is Mild Poison : 1000

TOTAL PRICE: 80280
Thanks for shopping with us!

I would have to say that you are selling yourself very short Naica! I highly recommend the BE Calculator... it is a very handy tool and I believe is a fair pricing guide.

I was just about to run it through the calc too. That is a pretty nice pet.

One thing I wonder about the calc though is pricing. I downloaded it onto my computer last night. It is obviously much harder, and takes more dna,to make cl 35 pets with certain attacks, HAM etc than it is to throw together mutant rancor dna with something and get a cl 68+ pet. Does the calculator take this into account, or weigh the HAM as the biggest factor?

Everything is given a set value. Knockdown always equals 5000, HAM is always calculated using the same formulae, etc...

It does not take into account generations, DNA used, or any other factor than the finished product's stats. Please correct me if I am wrong...

Wow. That answers my question of why other BE's seemed to be so overpriced.

I took up Creature Handler before BE, and had a hard time finding creatures that were not really expensive. Even after becoming a BE, I could not see why they were so over-priced - I mean, I collected my own materials, never bought much in the way of needed meats and stuff. Sure, I've dropped 200k on a pair of high capacity floral farms, but that's it really.

I won't use that calculator, or really change my prices. I see no point in charging insane amounts for something that I got for free - or got paid to get when running missions. Somewhere on my server, there is another creature handler just starting out, getting frustrated with the fact that any good pet is costing them 50K+; there is a master CH out there cursing their skill level because level 70 light armour pets are a million or so credits, and never seem quite worth it after getting them. It's not fair to them.

If we're charging a lot for our pets, our schematics, and our tissues, we're really only hurting ourselves by inflating our own economies. But think about it - if we're charging insane prices for pets, that's going to jack up the price of meat, hide and milk that a CH gathers, which hurts us. And I don't know about the rest of you, but I use Vasarian Brandy over Muon Gold, and if we BE's are charging a lot for our suppliments, Brandy is going to be ungodly expensive.

This was something I was chatting about to an aspiring BE, a Chef and a new CH. All of us agreed that if BEs in general dropped their price, then a lot of things that are really expensive on our server would probably drop in price - even if just one or two BEs did it, and got one or two tailors and chefs to do it, then the rest of the server would need to or risk loosing business.

But the chances of anyone in this game giving up their inflated prices for things they got basically for free are nil, and people like me who point this all out only get branded as some sort of heretic and snubbed by the community. It's already happened a couple of times in game, which is really sad.

Ethics and video games never work well though, I guess I should just get used to it.

Thank you for your judgement. You are so kind to point out how terrible we all are. Get used to the fact that you are the only one with ethics. And it makes me wonder why you would ever get snubbed... someone as kind as you are. Wow! the nerve of some people. And by the way... if you had ever used the calculator you would know that a level 70 mob would fall right around the 200k range.

You can give it away all you like. That does not give you the right to snub your nose at other hard-working BEs and question their ethics.

The original poster asked a question about pricing. They can choose to follow your method and give it all away since everything we do costs us absolutely nothing... or they can choose to use theBE Calculator... or they can figure out their own method. I for one cannot remember anyone asking for a lecture. But I am sure we are all very happy for your great insight to our shortcomings.

Edited out the really mean stuff Ioriginally posted...

i usually make a judgement on what the pet is used for......

for trash mounts i charged max 5k

for decent nonch pets they go at most 30k

for starting ch pets they start around 10k

cl 60+ 75k-100k

it may seem like a random targetting system but they're way cheaper than most i've seen

so i'm only skimming off profits

i take many orders and always give discounts for orders

i love making and having pets (i have 8 nonch pets that i made myself that i use)

i make most of my money with supplements and petstims anyway

i sell heavy for 2k each, medium for 1k each, light 750 each

since most supplements are sold incrates, i can make quite a lot of money all at once

i sell many single pet stims on the bazaar and send e-mails to anyone who buys them with a wp for my vendor, i sell tons of crates of petstims this way

Okay... had to do it... I min/maxed a CL70 pet on the calculator in an attempt to hit that million or so credits:

CL 70
Total resists = 50553
Armor bonus = 20000
Ranged bonus = 5000
H: [email protected] A: [email protected] M: [email protected] for total= 125000
Damage 1000 at 50 per point = 25000
To Hit is 1.00 at 250 per point = 25000
Attack speed is 1.90 at 100 per point = 11000
Special Attack 1 is Strong Poison : 5000
Special Attack 2 is Strong Disease : 5000
Bonus for creature difficulty: 5000

TOTAL PRICE: 301553
Thanks for shopping with us!

1,5,10,15,20,25,35,40,45,50,55,60.75.100

pick a number add 3 zeros.

after a whle of tring to come up with some stupid formula i figured Hell these thigns are only costing say around 25-100 units of meat and up to 120 units of flora food. so it really does not matter what i price it at im still makeing profit.

now i just price based on what range of pet they should be, heh the most work i ever had was tring to make a forumla only to later say screw this and just go with base #'s

if i know one particular clone is better than another i offset the price a little -+1k usally

if i busted my ass makeing the clone and its a CL 55+ and its goe exceptional stats it sometimes goes for more.

dont make this more work that it has to be, and have fun with it, then its not a online job.

well interesting...

I've been specializing in kimos, rancors, and Gurrecks all up around 64-70. I've been selling them for 475k-650k depending on stats, damage, resists and demand. I never really thought they were overpriced. The way I saw it, weaponsmiths sell krayt weapons for 1mil+ and we're makin' pets with 550 -630 damage, armor and dot. But the one thing I've realized is that most MCH dont make any money. With the nerfing of CH levels and the limit on pets for us, I'm a bit dissappointed. I do make a lot of sales and I'm very consistant with allmy pets. I'm going to check out the BE calc and see what I've been doing wrong. Thanks for whoever made it.
