Hehe congrats... I sure don't know how you did it, but that must be a nice advantage for initial sales! I've been sewing my little fingers off with the highest quality items and (thankfully) a steady stream of sales in person, bazaar and to my store. Since I'm (woefully) unemployed right now I'm playing pretty much all day from patch-up in the morning to 2-3 AM. The only thing I don't do is power-craft the items to the next level, I just allow my skill to naturally trickle up to the next level as I make items for sales.
So even though I've been playing obsessively, focusing on my tailoring with only a few hours here and there not played, I've only got Experimentation I and Field Wear II, working towards Field Wear III for the moment so I can at least not say "no" to all the duster requests hehe. I guess I'm not as far along as some of the other Tailors due to my store, which I've invested time into getting set up and maintained. I also put extremely detailed item descriptions on my bazaar and vendor sales, so even though I type realllly fast that takes time too. Still it makes me blink when I see people 3-4 skills over my level hehe...it chills me to think of the amount of time put in! Some overnighters, eh? ![]()
I think it's been a great balance with the number of tailors in game... it seems like there will be plenty of customers for the number of eventual master tailors that show up in the end, and I don't see a situation where the first to hit Master will take all the sales away from those working their way up still! Good job SOE! Now, hehe, just please explain what "Business Acumen" does in game terms (lol, I think I know but you just never can be sure, eh?)
Again, congrats!

Well, try to take breaks every so often, and mix it up by crafting different things once in a while if you're grinding. Try to sell as much stuff as possible, so hang out in areas where people will be looking for new clothes, especially cantinas. Other than that, there aren't too many secrets to it ![]()
Bitter a bit? Use the tools you have at your disposal. Make the system work for you. Why try to fight it? It's the smart thing to do.
Personally I have field wear and formal wear to level 4 and tailoring to lvl 3. I've sold about 90% of what I made. Does that mean I'm evil and screwing the system also? There's ways to go about getting massive xp without screwing the system.
