Thread: Price Check on a BE Critter. Is this too Much to pay???
depends on the other stats and the attacks. 200k isn't outrageous for a pet that will last you six months to a year (or longer) if you avoid PvP. An average player can sock away 5k missions without sweating and it would take a mere 40 missions to have a tool that lasts much longer than a gun (5k to 50k) or armor (100k to 200k for a quality suit). It is even faster in a good group to rack up 200k (20k missions).
My pricing so far has been in the 25k to 100k range on pets, but I'm not doing custom orders or special orders... those I would charge more for because I have to go hunt something in particular, rather than what i want to hunt down. Just plopping what i make on my vendor and letting them sell first come - first serve. I base my pricing on clones by opportunity cost. I easily rake in 40k an hour on missions... so the 25k (mediocre) to 100k (quality) covers what i could have made just killing stuff instead.
I agree with that price. I can, and sometimes do, sell similar pets for that price. I usually put those up fpr 150k and they fly out of the vendor. I only sell them a bit cheaper since I don't need the money. But I know for a fact I could sell those stats for that price if I put it in a graul, kimo, or rancor skin.
It is a resonable price and there should be a little room to negotiate. The dna used to generate that is not hard to get and your BE knows that. In addition, it can easily be made first generation. Offer him 150k and see what happens.
of course, I am assuming the usual HAM 9k to 11k
little off topic here ,but g i'm also on lowca was curious if you had a shop
set-up looked at your website and appears you enjoy the profession and
i was intersested in buying some of your wares.
Probably too much. If it was CL35 without any big vulnerabilitiesI would say it might be worth 200k.
otoh if it has no vulnerabilities, is in a fast cat skin, and has nice special attacks maybe.......
Lol, considering I paid 150k to try out to BE pets that didnt come close to those stats I would say 200k is very good for cl 40 pet at those stats. Consider this, I run 26k missions on Dantooine on average of about 7 mins to complete. It takes me about 15 mins now with my speeder to complete 2 missions to net 50k and get back to get more missions (Kungas and Mokks hate me now). In about an hour I have from 150-200k so I think 200k is very reasonable for a very good meat tank.
I may go through all 6 of my maulers by the time Im through with the 6th or 8th mission but hey I have 200k. Yes I know, some people just dont have the right fighting skills to do this but I know plenty of people that do. You should reallysale atwhat you think is reasonable, I'm just informing you that money is not hard to come by if you have the right skills, ie MCH + (Flame tree Commando or MTK) is pretty much $$$.
Money is relative. If you ask a brand new character to pay 100k for a nonCH pet/Mount, they will look at you and cry.
If you ask a master BH who's got 6 million in the bank and is selling a holocron for 5 million at the starport on Coronet for 200k, he'll think its a bargain. Especially since he just paid 300k for a nice set of Composite armor.
Its all relative. If its too much for you to pay, keep shopping. If its a what-a-deal don't worry and be happy.
Skep
"fair" is a very relative term..as some others have mentioned...but I sell primarily custom pets and charge anywhere from 40K to 250K...(and yes, some are 8th generation hybrids! hehe)
I will say that I have seena BE charging 900,000 credits for a CL 32-(I think-can't remember if it was narglatch, gurreck or razor cat)... 12K HAM but most resists were 2...yes, just 2.
shop around....
