Thread: DNA Sampling Failure Rates Mutant Rancors

Failure: 64
Failure with Aggro: 13
Success: 4
Success w/ Death: 5

Total Sample Attempts: 86
Total Failure: 77 = 90%
Total Success: 9 = 10%

Didnt quite make it to 100 sample attempts this time, they depawned.

So Master BE vs Gnorts 15% Failure rate. Master BE vs Mutant Rancors 90% Failure rate.

I will speculate that the failure rate on the lowest level creatures is probably 10% (gnorts are 4, lowest is 2)

So our range is 10-90%

How do you feel about that?

I think everyone will agree that we don't feel to good about that at all.

I think the 90% failure rate on CL 75 is perfectly reasonable. It needs to be a challenge, and the game would quite frankly get pretty messed up if every BE could go to Dath and bring back a couple dozen MR samples on a whim with little effort. How many CL 70 pets can the economy support?

But anyway, I actually get more frustrated with all the low level sample failures. Seems like higher than 10% to me on h. pups, but I haven't logged it. Nothing like getting attacked by a bunch of pups every fourth or fifth sampling attempt, which is what it seems like to me

Right now the economy can support a lot cause there isn't very many Master CH's and we wander around trying to find a BE who will even attempt making a CL 70 pet.

I have had one pet over 65 and it was a CL 72 bolle, as a BE i have never made a CL 70 pet but there would be a demand if the pet was worth the effort stat wise.

Sampling animals should be a whole lot better at master than before, I have found that I fail more now at master than before and I get aggro a lot easier. Example sampled 100 butterflies at novice BEfailed 13 times. Sample 10 butterflies failed 4 times and got aggro with my Maskscent clothes on.

AT 4 4 4 4 BE i sampled rancors 20 failed 5 times at master 20 attempts faile 7 times and got aggro. Go figure.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.

Yes I would agree that the low level sampling rates are a joke - i mean come on, we're MASTERS. We should almost never fail on routine actions. If real life nurses cocked up routineblood sampling the amount we do then there would be a lot of patients with broken needles in their arms...

Worst part your numbers only reflect sampling failures once your close enough to the MR to even try. Can't imagine how long this actually took. Thanks for the insight but I too am not very pleased with the high failure rate.

Heh, this was on TC-Ahazi so as a Master Ranger with conceal I just ran up to them

The getting close to them thing is the whole issue. 10% success rate for the biggest creature we can sample is fine. Having them aggro you when your scent is masked is not fine. Having them vanish into thin air when you are trying to sample them is not fine. One could argue that these aren't BE issues though...

Well i must be an extremely lucky MBE as i'm hitting 100% sample rate on Mutant Rancors.

The problem is that its 1 from 1 all the rest have resulted in aggro way before i even got close enough to think about sampleing.

My only success came from sampling Young Malkloc Plainwalkers near the Sarlaac when 1 walked past me. I have never successfully approached a MR with a scout 4/0/4/0 wearing +25 clothes and jawa beer, this is very frustrating.

The other complaint came from getting a crit fail using this sample, I'm a 42 year ex-soldier and I amlost sat down and cried.

I would either they need to increase the effectiveness of Jawa beer or in general improve mask scent to allow us to get close enough to sample or increase sample success rates. I totally disagree that we should need to take an extra profession just to able to use our current one. A rifleman doesn't need brawler to effectively use his rifles why should we have to take ranger?

Just my 2 credits worth.
