Thread: Is this a known exploit?

I've only been BE for about 4 days and I've already figured out an exploit. I don't know if you guys know it or not but I'll tell it to you.

DNA templates of any creature can be made with only one DNA sample. It's very easy, when making DNA templates and adding the DNA samples into the 5 required slots, click on one of the DNA samples as fast as you can. If you click fast enough you can get up to 3 DNA samples into the required 5 slots for making a DNA template, now double click one of the DNA samples you have already put in there to get the only one you used back but with 2 slots still full. Now just click that newly acquired DNA sample really fast so you have all 5 slots full. Then make the DNA template.

I'd be extremely surprised if this exploit was not known.

you are just ckicking so fast you are actually putting the next sample in.

count your samples before and after -you will have 5 less.

I tried this.

It works and has to be a bug.

Reported it also.

I thought that might be what was causing it SOF, but I tried it with a single DNA sample in my inventory and I could fill 2 slots (just couldn't click fast enough to fill 3).

No it does actually put multiples of a single sample in.

The only reason I noticed is I was out mass-sampling junk DNA to make junk Rancors to sample for good DNA. I was just clicking the DNA as fast as possible to fill up the 5 slots and move on the next rancor, blah, blah. Noticed that I was ending up with a few more Rancor than I should have had and left over DNA. Well hopefully they fix it sometime, I have slowed down my DNA clicking to one at a time now, heh.

To make sure I understand this right...

When I get the "Invalid..." error message, it still actually puts the DNA in anyways? I've seen this message a LOT but I've never really paid much attention. I'd like to be able to reproduce this once or twice to make sure I don't do it often. There are a ton of times where I'm just double-clicking blindly while watching tv...

I only get it with the DNA samples.

Any other schematic I get the invalid ingredient.

interesting... i tried it just to confirm and i couldnt get the same sample into multiple slots. it seemed like i did but when i pulled them both out they had different stats. if its possible to actually pull the DNA sample out from both slots, theoretically u could use it to copy amazing DNA for use in unlimited clones.

this could potentially be a big problem and should be dealt with immediately... ill have to do some more testing with it and report back. thanks for setting me straight, i was sure it was just a simple human error.

I"ll double check that i only had 1 DNA sample in my inventory.

When I took the doubled DNA back out, I only got 1 DNA sample back... so wasn't a dupe. But yeah it could be used to force doubling on good DNA, or stretching out housepet DNA.

I just got home and have tried to duplicate this but cannot. I am trying it with just 1 DNA sample in my inventory. I've tried with both with and without my droid. I haven't tried at my personal crafting station yet nor have I tried at a public crafting station.

What DNA template are you making? I am still unable to reproduce this at all...
