To tame a creature, at this time, you need to be a creature handler. In an upcoming patch any class will be able to tame a creature (with some restrictions) however a creature handler will be the only class that can teach pets commands.

See http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/in_development.jsp?page=In%20Developmentunder "Creature Handler" for details.

I read it as any class will be able to use the lowest level tamed pets, like bearded jax ect worts, rith, ect. The only people who can tame will still be CH's. This is only really going to be handy for those who want a pet to play around with since it's the lowest level you can't get a really good fighting pet. So yeah if you want to use your pets you need to also go CH.

yea riven is wrong, nobody except CH can tame pets period.

non-ch will be able to have (store, call and control) pets no higher than CL 15.

Yes, even after the patch, you will still need a Creature Handler to tame and train the pet. You will only be able to use the commands that a Creature Handler has taught to your pets.

i was creating a medic and had not considered becoming a BE, but i was blancing through it and it looked interesting.

why should i become a BE?

why should i not become a BE?

also, when you make creatures, do you also have to be a creature handler to use them yourself? will i just make things i can sell but never actually see?

To BE or not to BE, couldn't resist. Right now there doesn't seem to be much working with the profession. The creatures you can make are not as good as those in the wild and the tissue line is broken badly. On the other hand I found it to be a lot of fun making my own creatures and then taming them since I am also a CH. The new patch will also allow you to make pet stims and woundpaks so that is a plus.

Oh you are a BE, that explains it.

The thing is, the creature can never be as good as the ones in the wild. Even if you make, say a Kusak, that is better than a wild Kusak, there is always another creature some place that is the same CL that is better. This is really unfortunate. I think the only hope will be, if they let you experiment down the CL. That way, a person would be able to buy a pet from you, that they wouldn't be strong enough to control from the wild.

Tissues are broken, and even if they claim to fix them, there is no real way to test much of it.

We will have a new market for pet stims.

In general the class has a lot of problems, but I have no intention of giving up the class. If and when they get it fixed, I will be ready. :>

Question for everyone.

Can you please list if you have a store/vendor, where, and what server?

I am on Bloodfin and I cannot seem to find anything, I have been CH and BE for three days now.

Thanks!

Ok I am new to the BE profession and must say it is harder then it seemed. Anyone want to let me in on how to do the BE profession quicker and easier? I noticed that DNA ampling is really hard and fails alot. Am I doing something wrong? Also any other info is appreciated.
