First, best advice I can offer is to READ the FAQ, from one end to the other; the amount of good information in that cannot be overstated if you are interested in the BE profession.

Aside from that, spend a little time in this forum and you will pick up a lot. We end up discussing just about everything that affects a BE and there are some really good people here, with a lot of intelligent ideas and willing to help. If you get the "grounding" that the FAQ will give you, it will make these discussions much more meaningful, and when you ask questions, it will be obvious you know enough to have the answers mean something to you as well.

The search engine is not great on these boards, but there is a lot of good information to be found. The worst part of it for those who are here a lot is repeating the info in the FAQ, but thebest is when a new participant has a question we have not thought of already, and gives us more to think through and talk over, so it is nice to have you join us.

Hi all, I recently became Novice BE and I am quite enjoying it, its very different from other profs.

Well, I am a Chef/BE with basic vendor skills and the mask scent tree in scout, so I have no combat skills at all. (My other char is a fighter so this will have to beanice change)

I was wondering if any of you veterans have any advice? Not on how to grind the profession fast since I am enjoying it and want to explore the profession while getting exp, but instead some good pointers that are good to keep in mind.

Thanks beforehand!

I am just looking for some input from the community on a good way to make steady cash. I don't have any resources so any suggestions on how I can generate some money while I am collecting the resources would be great.

Make nonCH mounts.

You dont need a lot of resources to make them, so you could probably manage by collecting one sample, if the animals lives through it, kill it and harvest, then buy some cheap flora from the coronet bazaar and you'll be able to get started. I would personally use the VD-VD-HP-HP-HP recipe as recommended in the BE faq, but there are others that would work just as well.

yeah banthas and cu pas are the most popular mounts, kaadu too, you can get the 6k cap easily enough. Run a few missions and buy whatever meat you can find on the forums at the lowest CPU, and put up a few mounts on the Coro bazaar, you'll start your capital flow pretty quick. Just be sure, when you name your pets during the crafting process, to give them a good description like "NonCH Mountable Cu Pa 6k4k2k 11% Kin" so they'll stand out and people will know right off what it is when they're browsing the bazaar lists. Helps to puta note about finding a CH to train their mount, too, in the item description since you'll get a lot of mails saying 'hey i bought your bantha how do i get it to let me ride it?' =)

another nice way to make some credits, if you have any combat skills which I think is highly recommended but not nesary, is to take destroy missions. just make sure that you don't take missons for social creatures. Pretty easy to sample creature from each wave, then beat the hell out of the lair. Also if you need meat, sample once from creature then kill it and harvest meat. Sure it will slow down the dna sampling alittle but once you get about 1k meat should be set for awhile. Also would get a good scout droid, since if made correctly it can harvest like a master ranger. IMO tk/be best way to go, easy to make credits then, and helps from getting bored of just grinding. So when you do start going cross-eyed from grinding, you can go take out some frustration as a tk.

Pet meds sell pretty well. Put stim pack A's or B's on the bazaar. As a previous poster commented, make sure to lable them with the power so people will know right away what they are buying.

On Gorath you could just sample Yard Trash and throw a mountable out on the bazar for 6k and sell it in a day tops... I can throw any pet out there and it's sold by the next day, I wish they would raise the bazzar amounts again or fix the ecconomy... maybe LucasArts can do it...

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

raising the zaar cap would just accelerate inflation.....thats what happened when they raised it from 3k to 6k =)

If they really want to fix the economy they need to reduce mission payouts that get abused (namely Mokk/Janta). Economics only really make sense when you get into uber leet item trading where supply and demand are balanced....at normal levels demand so outweighs supply due to everyone being able to get 1M a buff running missions on Dant that prices are mediated primarily by commonly held arbitrary values and general player cheapness =)

I agree, but since BE's don't get vendors we should get special Bazzar privilages, only as a hot fix until the Combat Rebalance.

I have no idea how DNA samples relate to the finished product. Is there a guide to this or a list of good creatures to sample ?
