Ok, we've linked the cleverness stat with the ToHit function on the pet. And we've established that when you sample a clone, you get nothing but 0s for cleverness. Guess what, all second generation clones (using all clone dna) have a toHit of .2regardless of if the first gen animal was all mutant rancor and the clones tohit came out to .7

Another thing. We get no where near the experiment points to max out a pet. What I mean is this. Lets say you start with a trod. A trod is a mythical creature that has 900HAM Speed 2.00 ToHit .3 damage 100 no armor, all vulnerables, no specials and not ranged. Now, If we take 5 dna samples off of this creature, and combine them into a template we are not going to get a trod. We are gonna either have 100 damage and speed 2.00 or we will have 900 HAM and to hit .3. We cant get back to the original animal. The animal that led me to this realization was a gaping spider queen. They dont have babies, so i thought i would make one. Well I ended up way short of target on the clone. Im a master. It should be a simple Rubber Stamp of the animal if I used only that animals DNA.

Want some of my cold medicine Grelgen?

Yeah I've been very frustrated lately trying to figure out the HAM equations while still plugging away at completing a 1 to 150 Power table for damage. Grrr its irritating as hell trying hit a specific number like 32.

Well 20% chance to hit isn't too bad really, but yeah it does mean that generationalized clones are suffering a fair bit.

yeah, sumo, I actually am having a crappy experience with a 'head cold'. It means i wake up every morning to an hour long coughing fit. And you cant take pills or drink the Quil when yer coughing.

Let us know what you come up with, Sumo. My mid-high level power table is pretty dead on. It craps out at around 200 and 750 but I have yet to disprove anything inbetween. Also, I have a near perfectly accurate Cleverness/To Hit chart. I have about 50 fully tracked test creature builds and all signs say Cleverness/To Hit is range-based rather than using multipliers like the Power rating.

Sorry if this is old news. lol

I'm glad to have seen this post. For awhile there, I thought I was the only one now hating this profession.

Could the bug be as simple as cleverness being transfered to dependability? Cleverness goes to 0 and dependability jumps to over 1000.

I thought the Damage calc from Power was simple and fairly consistent:

  1. Multiply Power by 0.8

  2. Round to get Min Damage using SOE's novel, proprietary, and secretrounding method (used throughout their code).

  3. Add 10 more to get max damage.

All you need to do is figure out whether to roundup 10 ordown 10, right? I always round up 10 and can live with occasionally being off by 10.

I guess you must beseeing problems when Power is very low. I never make those creatures. What types of problems are you seeing?

While the whole cloning system was a great idea I have to say I've never seen such a lame coding in any mmporg. No it's not random, it's actually working as intended, it's just retardly wrote.

This is what I found out so far, I know some on this info are on the board but anyways I'm throwing em as I will surrender MBE soon.

First considering CH are, for 95% of them (no offense to CH, they have to get what is the most usefull of them, the problem lie in the game mechanics) looking for light armored / high kinetics pets, this reduce our DNA hunt of 5 mobs or so.

Why bother to get 5 mutant rancors that has 45% kin and is realy hard to get when you can get 300 (no joke) frenzied graul DNA that as 65% kin for the same ammount of time?

Takes 5 frenzied DNA and make a template : you'll get something close to a frenzied graul, a level 55ish pet.

Now, instead, just put 3 frenzied graul in slot 1 2 5, and the worst critters (doesn't matter which) in slot 3 4, and only put 1 or 2 exp point into attack ( max the others) : you get a pet level 35 with almost the same HAM and resists than a level 58 frenzied graul ( depend of the quality of your dna). And that, friends, all the time.

It's wayyyyy to easy to drop the CL of a pet. People bitch
about bugged DNA, but I'm sorry that issue is at least as wrong if you ask me. pair of level 35 light armor 59% Kin pet should be hard to makes. I'd like to udnerstand what they thought when they decided that put crap mobs dna in slot mental / psycho would drop CL by 50%.

Wait, it gets better. Now takes 3 samples of that uber level
35 petd you just made. Put this sample in slot 1 2 5, and crap into 3 4, guess what? Congratz you just made an insane level 22 pet, with light armor and 50ish kin.

next generation is 11-12, then you get no ch.I never managed to get light armor below 12 but I know it's doable if you only use very high quality DNA from the start to the end.

Long story short : they can fix bugged DNA as they want, uber no ch pets are still doable within the current system.
The facts that only 3 stats realy matters ( health/armor/kin) makes the job wayy to repetitive. Dropping down the CL is way too easy. When every MCH on server will have 3 pets with light armor 10kham and high resists, maybe they'll start to think that these pets are as overpowered than no ch ones.

I had fun untill I find out, and I made a few millions in the process but I can't think of a single to keep playing that proffession now.Lame.

ooloo, MBE, chimeara.

If you waited several months to get a regretably flawed system, yet one that is still immeasurably more interesting than the old one, I say give it a month or two to flesh out.

Clearly there are imbalances that should never have gone live. The history og the game though, is that this prof is given the occasional nod like a few others. So, it is going to take a while...why should that surprise anyone at this point?

And I am still sick to death of even the word Graul. At least I don't see everyoth er Creature Handler running around with 2 of those ugly monsters in tow. I wouldn't touch their DNA with a ten foot pole.
