so sample a high resist clone and itll boost the psych and the new pet will be better.. hmm.. so if i were to ..

take 5 gaping spider queen DNA samples, turn it into an uber whatever it is... sample that.. and take 4 more gaping spider queen DNA samples, toss the clone DNA into psych and the other 4 in there, it'd be basically the same thing, but lower cl? man thats awesome hehe... (tedius, but good to know for my personal pet collection)

So if I take 5 mutant rancor samples, combine, experiment on psych (and phys if the light armor doesn't show), then sample the clone (assume I get 3) and combine those samples with 2 more mutant rancors ... then I should get approx a lvl 60 mutant rancor?

In theory it should work similar to those methods. It is something that I am still running tests on. Its pretty time consuming getting enough of the same DNA from these creatures.

The one thing that has been reported and if you notice from your 2nd generation DNA samples is; that the Dependabilty Stat goes up at the CL goes down. Just as in the wild, the lower CL creatures have a higher number in that stat on average. As well it is has been mentioned by multiple people that experimenting in psych appears to lower the CL.

As for all of the stats staying the same, I don't know, since some stats appear to governed by multiple slots or have some different rule sets depending on some yet to be identified influences. One being, the sample quality. That does seem to have an influence over certain traits, namely the Ranged Attack.

I'm hoping it is this simply, but I doubt it. Hopefully tonight, I'll have more information. Trying to get enough DNA samples of each quality to do some good testing.

Well for kicks I made a super Rancor using all high quality DNA from a Kimo. It came out like like this...

CL- 114

Health- 20k

Action- 18k

Mind- 20k

Armor- Medium

Kinetic- 45% (sucks)

Attack Speed- 1.8 or something I can't remember.

Damage- 800-810

Special 1- Blinding Strike

Special 2- Dizzy Strike

Pretty neat, I made it blood red. I wonder if its possible to stop its growth at a certain time so it can be usable...

Hehe 45% Kinetic doesn't suck when you have AR2.

I wonder how detailed this new system is?

I sampled clones to around the 5th/6th generation using Sharnaff and yard trash starting DNA.All the samples ended up 0/1000+ on cleverness and dependability (in that order). I'm pretty sure it was those two even though thesearen't generally consideredas a linked pair (I was going for quantity, not quality so I wasn't keeping notes, but it should be east enough to redo).

If these two traits effect CL, I wonder what other cross trait pairs effect other things? It would make mixing and matching DNA a very convoluted affair (so I expect thats what SOE did ).

A quick recap on things I think are pretty close:

Special Attack 1seems to bePhysique slot (original DNA needs this in slot 1). (I'm not 100% on this one).
Special Attack 2seems to beAggresion slot (Original DNA needs this in slot 2).
CL worksmay work off thePsychology slot.
Ranged works off Mental (this seems almost 100%).
Armor/Resistswork offPysique, Prowess and Mental (not sure on this, my resists seem to go all over the place, so I'm missing something. someone earlier said aggression effects resists, so maybe thats it).

Arthur: War Gronda missions are around 5.2k I believe, I've sampled them a lot and mixed it with Sharnaff, but you should try Surefoot Brakasets (spel?) on Dath, as they shouldn't be that much harder than WG's and have 60% kinetic

Kargos: Make a few more Kimo/Rancs and sample the clones and see where you can get too. Try all Exp into the Psych slot, that should prove/disprove the CL theory and the value of recycling clones.

True, but the CL 114 sucks. I don't know if its possible to stop its growth at 70. I think what I can do, is sample it a couple times and see if I can make a lower CL generation of it. How many times can you sample your own pet? And does it effect the pet your sampling? Like droping stats?

Yeah I've been trying, but I keep failing every time. Maybe you can't sample something with a CL 114? hehe

Wanted to post some of my finding and validations of others findings so far:

1) Armor in Physique and Prowress (no armor in the other slots)with experimenting to above 49% on Physique gave me armor everytime - even on cl16 level pets

2) Validated Ranged attack flag always bleeds thru if put into Mind

3) Physique and Prowress and Agression each carry approx 25-30% of the Resists over.

4) The same specials in Mind and Agression will carry over to the generic template 75% of the time

But, if you write down what you did for each of those clones. Repeat what you did several times times and publish your results and conclusions in detail on this forum so others can attempt to reproduce work and verify or invalidate it then will you be doing science.

Ummm... No. Then he will be doing the same random test over and over to determine if there is any solid consistancy to the new system. You need to start science with a hypothosis, and about the only thing close to a hypothosis we have at this point is the assumption that there actually IS a system of which we will be able to control the outcome. And without ANY info from the devs on this, it is simply an assumption.

I'm not a Master BE yet. I'm at 3/3/3/3 (have this odd need to raise my stats evenly...), so after making a couple of clones with the new system I've gone back to grinding. To be honest, I'm kind of glad I'm not a master at this point. I can grind for a while while eveyone tries to trace that long noodle in the spagetti bowl and a new guide to clone building can be written.

I guess I'm in more of a middle camp of the two extremes I've been reading about since the patch. Some seem to want the details of the new cloning system spelled out for them. Others don't want to know anything about it from the devs. While I wouldn't want formulas from the devs, basic guidelines would be nice. I feel like someone's dumped a puzzle out in front of us, and not only is there no picture of the finished puzzle on the from of the box, but there's no picture on the actual puzzle pieces, either. And with the possibilities of bugs in the new system (which a couple have already been mentioned if they are indeed bugs), we can't even be certain if all the pictureless puzzle pieces we have belong to the same puzzle.

So I'll leave it to the hard core BE's that like it that way and read their "How to" manuals when they finish them. Meanwhile, who has some cheap meat for sale?

I tried the following for armor on a critter:

First time I didCrag Bol(armor on this) DNA in Phys and Prow, Surefoot Brak DNA in the rest. Experimented both Phys and Prow to 50%+ andno armor.

I then tried CB DNA in _all_ the slots, exerimented it up and still no armor (I even dumped a point into Mental which was in the 20's before I did).

Must be missing something here?

Meroc, the only thing I can think of is that the samples were less than High quality? That sounds like it should have worked.

ON a different subject - Sampling your own clones:

Maybe this has been covered elsewhwere, but samples of my clones have one of the psych stats jacked up to 1000 and one of the mind stats dropped to 0. Every single time. Is this a bug? Or is it to prevent us from using just our own samples of clones? Or is there a roleplaying reason to have retarded clones? Anyone else notice this?

I think they (the devs) were being "cute" when they did that

"Classic" Sci-Fi says cloning from clones makes them dumb but docile, I think thats what's being seen here.
