I am not a Jedi and this has probably been brought up in another post so please bear with me.
I just recently came to the understanding that upon death a Jedi loses some level of XP and if they clone they lose an additional amount of XP.
1. Is the current system working as intended?
2. In other words are Jedi supposed to lose the additional XP upon cloning?
3. If no, is the Jedi supposed to lose that extra XP upon DB?
4. If they are supposed to lose it upon cloning, why?
I appreciate any help the community can provide me.

How many branch unlocks DON'T require combat skills? - And what are the Sith like that you do have to kill? I'm only TK 1242 - so I'm not up do much.
Also, if you have the Survey branch - does that mean you can survey for resources and sample them without Artisan skills?

Well I just did luck, and it requires no combat. But, it does require you be able to survey, so you need at least novice artisan to complete it. Also, you will still need novice artisan to survey, even with the survey fs branch.

Thank you for your response. Who do you get the luck quest from?
Also, could someone tell me what level I should be before attempting the combat missions?

I'd like to get Master Brawler by some point tonight, but Im having problems. I did the one and two-handed trees fine, and Im even burning through Swordsman quickly, but Im having real problems with Unarmed and Polearms.
Unarmed: it was easy to get two the second box, but my damage output is really low(Im using a 1.5 speed sliced VK, but the damage is about 50-120), and Im worried I wont be able to handle Pickets or Quenkers to get the last couple of boxes and TKA 4xxx. Note that Ive not actually started that yet, so if this question is answered in the stickied unarmed thread, feel free to ignore it, Ill be reading that next
Polearms: Soooooooo sloooooooow. The only Wooden Staffs I can find have a speed of 6.2, and Ive been to every Melee vendor listed and cant find a Basic Lance, so Ill haveto advance to the third box before I can get a good enough weapon to go to Dantooine.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to get moving a little faster?

Is the wood stick the only staff you can use ?
I did the polearms not long ago, think i used some looted sticks, dont remember the stats but hell, 6.2 is slower than any hammer i owned i think
did you look over the coronet bazaar for sticks?

#1 Is it wise to have a Mark in your Friends list so you know when he/she is online?
Not permanantly no
#2 I went to my Mark's town last night and he was grouped with at least 5 other people that i saw. One of them asked if i was a BH and then he said i was. How did he know?
Checked your badges? Did you have a scatter or LLC equipped?
#3 I stood 20 meters from my Mark and he was yellow on radar, will he only show up red after i attack him/her?
Yes
#4 Do I show up as red to them when i get close to them? without attacking ?
No you are purple or blue dependant on faction

Only marksman is a fairly big giveaway, no real need to master marksman for much else.

The player and their bikes/pets/droids have always shown up as yellow dots for me. The usually don't turn red until I attack them, and the TEF appears. To the best of my knowledge, you show up as a normal player dot to them. There have been occasions and stories where this has not totally been true (like when my friendshuttled to dant and was attacked by a knight before he even got past his loading screen). But these are rare bugs.
As far as knowing you were a bh, only 2 people use carbines. BH and carbineer. Not that many people actually master carbineer, even less w/o BH added on. Odds are, you were a bh.
Not only that, I'm assuming you were in their city. They probably knew the jedi was on the terms, and so they stayed grouped constantly. They probably always had a watch in the city, and once you get to know people and their manurisms, it's not hard to spot someone with an unusual purpose. If the city doesn't get that many visitors, or you weren't looking at any of the vendors or anything, it's not that hard to figure it out.
As far as the maksman thing, it's true, only 2 classes require master marksman, commando and bh. And since the jedi was on the boards well, there's alot of flags. Chalk it up to experience, learn, go get another one.
*edit* Also, it's ok to keep jedi on your friends list, as long as they don't know you're hunting them. If you strike and miss, I would take them off. It's not that big of a deal, since most jedi won't add you to their list because you'd have a direct wp to them, butjedi with big guildswill sometimes set up an ambush for you. Yes, I've seen it happen, and I damn near died.
