Jaysnn - I don't play on your server either, so like others I can't give you an actual WP. What I'd do in your situation though is find a shop that does high-end Composite and get the name of the Armoursmith who made it. I'd then drop him a polite email asking whether he takes commissions, and if so how much he would charge for a high-end set of Ubese, and what the final resists are likely to be like. Do that a couple of times with different 'smiths, and choose the one that appeals to you the most.

Your wrong on one point, however. You ass-u-me too much by judging people based on conveying of ideas or spelling.

1. Many people use spell check so much that their spelling isn't what it should be. It's a sign of a busy life, not intelligence.

2. Typo's happen. I worry more about my typing speed than errors...in a place like this anyways. This is a game forum, not a master's dissertation.

3. Einstein was a terrible public speaker, as was Oppenheimer, Salk, and my first law professor.

4. People who are sensational public speakers that are very good at drawing people to their ideas are often insane madmen like Stalin, Hitler, Bin Laudin, etc, etc. [or most politicians]

I have only logged on to the game once in the last month, but I have been here most nights of the week. These guys make me laugh.

If you wear armor, does it cancel out your melee and range defense or does it add on?

Neither.

Armor only affects the blows that land on you. When a blow lands on you it is reduced by whatever the percentage is in that hit type. Say you have 50% kineticubese, a 300 kinetic hit is reduced by 150, but the piece of armor to hit lands on is reduced by 150 points as well.

So, say if i had like 70 percent kinetic resist on my armor and 80 melee defense and someone attacked me for 100, how much would be blocked out?

they would hit you for less than 30 points if they used a weapon that did kinetic damage because of the 70% resist and the light armor rating. melee defense doesnt decrease the dmg you take just increases you chance of not getting hit because whatever was attacking you missed

I used some high kinetic Res Chitin armor , high kinetic Res ubese and 80% kinetic 3x comp, depends largely on if you can afford to purchase the armor and if are willing to purchase food and buffs

I have two sets of armor. PVE armor for guild hunts and PVP armor. It really depends on the "style" of your toon. Do you PVP 100% or mostly PVE?

Using Nightsister segmants I've found I can get next to 0 mind encum on 70% EFF armor.
