You know I was being pretty civil about my opinions here, but I guess that doesn't matter now...so here we go...

If you make a theory as broad as this one, it is impossible to disprove, I mean he is basically telling you to do just about everything you can in game as often as possible and you'll unlock the slot!

Wow, that wasn't obvious, the only difference i've seen is that he actually added a number count to those objectives.

And the fact that he has a "source" really makes it sound fake, especially since the whole basis on this template goes against what SOE has said since the beginning.

Believe whatever you want, you're entitled to it, but I am entitled to my own thoughts.

Honestly I have a question for those who believe this.

Is there anything to do in game that isn't on this template?

Because to me, he is telling you to do everything possible and you'll unlock the slot.

No *Edit* duh

Sillbinger, is there a theory that you DO believe in, or if you have one that you came up with yourself, would you please share it? Because I am very interested in hearing it.

Answer some of the questions I posed above and then i'll answer yours.

Instead of just avoiding common sense.

Sorry, I read one of your posts to fast Sil,

Your right. I cannot prove any of this. And even more incriminating, the template provided is heavily biased towards..."just playing the game." Instead of offering somthing that is relatively easily checked such as a particular quest in a specific location, the template is instead incredibly broad, and would take months of work.

Even then, having done everything recommended, and gaining the slot, one could still point out that it was some other one time action. I think the only way you can know with certainty is over a long period of time when some people come forward with FS slots from different professions, and certain patterns or lack there-of become visible will we be able to confirm or prove this template.

What question? If there's anything else that can be done that he hasn't mentioned? Not really.

Now is there a theory you believe in, or tend to believe in one more than another? I'm merely asking this for the sake of giving my opinion on it. If you don't mind.

Thank you Fastgun for that response.

Whats funny is the fact that this is basically the same theory I have followed from day one, what just got my attention was "A source told me but I can't tell you who", to me that says bull****.

I said a week ago on these very forums to do as much as possible, accomplish as much as possible and just enjoy the game for what it is, and that is probably your best bet in opening the slot, instead of just focusing on one or two areas, focus on EVERY area.

My theory has always been "just play the game" and this theory fits it well. Whether you take this as just an idea how someone might become FS or as fact, it still supports the fact that you just need to play the game. Now, there might be certain key parts(like mastering professions and such) but I think we will never know the exact recipe to unlock the FS slot. For example, we all know to make a cake you need milk, eggs, flour, sugar, etc... But we dont know how much of each we need right off the top of our heads.

hey fastguns i have a question for you....i chose brawler as a starting proffesion but soon after reaching novice pikeman i lost interest in it..i didnt surrender the skills cause i thought they might come in useful later....so then i got marksmen and scout training...mastered them both and know am working as a bounty hunter/carbiner.....but i still have the pikeman skills.....i have tons of imperial points and im almost done the theme park for darth vader and the emporer themselves....and obviously i have been to alot of places because im a bounty hunter.....so im just wondering to reach force sensitivity wouold i still have to master the entire brawler proffession.....well i know i dont HAVE to i could do other things but is there really a point?..and what if i completely ditch all brawler related skills and surrender brawler completely would it still count as my primary proffession???

I think the only thing that is different about this template than just "playing the game" seems to be the emphasis on the starting class, and styles of play. Some styles of play are more rewarding. But why the emphasis on the starting class? Why should starting out as a marksman then finding you prefer Droid Engineering, and being an Uber Chef with no intention of ever mastering marksmanship slow you down? This is the part that confuses me.

My basic theory, as I stated above, was to accomplish as much as humanly possible in the game.

I would think its kinda obvious that if you play generally and do a ton of different things, that you would have a better chance then someone who doesn't.

I just don't believe that there is a set number to all of this.

Or just one "Template".

Gremlin according to the template, mastering your starting profession yields points but does not disqualify you or anything. Mastering what profession you started with seems to be rewarded or weighed more heavily for some reason, but does not affect whether you will get a FS slot or not.
