Thread: schematics
There's three kinds of Schematics: Draft, Manufacturing, and Loot.
Draft Schematics are what you can build, they are listed in your datapad and tell you stuff like resources required, experimentation values, and a description of the object.
Manufacturing Schematics can be created instead of a prototype item while crafting near a station (or droid with the appropriate module) these schems are loaded into factories and will produce a bunch of identical (down to the serial number) pieces so long as it has the resources to do so.
Loot schematics (I think this is what you meant by the genosian ones) are special, limited use draft schematics. You "learn" a draft schem from the loot schem, and can use it a certain number of times (10 usually) once you craft 10 items (or manufacturing schems), the draft schem dissapears and you're back to making the ordinary stuff.
Hope that helps!
If you left click on the schematic in your data pad then it should show the properties in the examine window on the left side. That will list the specific resource and component requirements.
I usually rename my deeds somewhat so that they are easy to distinguish. Most people will use something like : "DEED: BER10 Medium mineral ... " where the BER10 bit is what they insert to customize it.
