Thread: Getting to know you and your profession!
I've been a DE for a long time. It was the class I wanted to be as soon as I logged on. However its about a year later and I'm still one box away from mastering the profession. The reason: I never felt needed. I sell more droid chassi for decoration than I do full droids. Heck, I even mastered Architech in a month because I needed the money and there was a market.
Short form, people think droids are cool but no one I know really needs them.
Personally I wish they could be more like the new starship system. You buy a chassis and then buy modules to be put into it. Heck go one step further. Use those new skill chips from JTL as a requirement for making/using the appropriate modules.
ie Got a Droid with a module for skinning animals. Before he can do it you need to get a scout or ranger to burn a chip with that skill. Then if you are a scout you get a cool bonus. If you are not a scout you can use your droid to harvest at some level about par with a novice scout.
BTW Dont restrict the modules, everyone wants to blow up their own mouse droid, just make it not very effective for those that are not trained at it.
The last major droid revamp helped a lot and JTL looks like it will help some too but I'd really like to be a bit more useful.

Almost a master DE
50,000 XP too go.

Personally, I would much rather see this change and have the macro system untouched. I like macros, I just don't like that we are set up to be 100% macroable and the position it puts us in. A ban policy on botting and then a follow up to handle the core problems that are causing the Ent botting in both the Combat thingy and the Dancer revamp would be the best plan for Ents and the game as a whole.
First ban botting, then fix Ent healing and our leveling. *shrug* It just needs to happen.
But see leaving the macro system untouched. Leaves AFK looting, and all sorts of other afk actions that go on currently. Which they need to fix. A ban on afking not only increases reporting from us on bots and the like. But there will be a lot from others that run into people afking spawns and stuff. They still NEED to fix the macro system so that you can't afk with it forever.
But yes a statement about afking and a ban so that CS could do something about it would be good.(although I'm not sure the CSRs would do anything)

Oh! To the trolls that posted, sorry I am all out of troll food today. Guess we will have to buck heads another day.
That's ok, I wasn't hungry anyway.
So, are you saying that as far as you are concerned everything is fine with CH? Hmmm, interesting. You know it says alot that you have to ask friends in game about CH. Yeah, I know. TKM is much more fun with a crafting profession. Try playing CH sometime. It might just change your attitude. Oh, you do not want to grind another profession? Ok. It is not like you are being paid for it or anything. Do I sound like a digruntled Troll? Yeah. Funny, I only troll the CH forums. I wonder why that is?
Nope, that is not what I am saying. Please don't twist my words around. Thanks!
I was just making a statement about how odd I thought it was they never complained. Perhaps I should have added these people are the first to complain about anything *shrugs*. Anyway, I am here to gather what this communityfeels iswrong with their game play. I am nothere tosay your feelings aren't valid about your game play just collecting information to help myself better understand your profession.
I think the lack of complaints may also stem from the type of player that gets master CH and keeps it. Most are fun loving people and easy to get along with. Most of the complaints they have with CH can and are worked around easily. Most goals one sets for themselves as a master CH are short term and can be gained within a acceptible amount of time. I myself was CH for a very long time and enjoyed it but I try professions to make sure I know what is involved with them and if I like them so it was dropped for another at the time. CH is a fun and challenging profession in itself but I beleive if I ever had a suggestion for it, it would be to allow its participation as a profession more in the GCW to foster more interaction between CH and other players. CH was one of the most personally rewarding professions I have played in game, I just wish I was able to keep it and also be a effective support player for groups (we always seem to lack that extra 20SP to keep what we like).

Are you sensing a common theme here yet?

Respectfully,
"We'll have visual in a bit, and then be landing in a nearby clearing," intoned the pilot. "Keep the comms clear. Surprise is your biggest asset. Don't forget that the Princess is counting on you. May the Force be with you."
The shuttle's wings folded gracefully to its sides and the shuttle slowly descended into a small clearing. The commandos quickly filed out of the ship and spread out to various locations in the clearing crouching behind whatever cover the forest provided. The shuttle then gently lifted off and gracefully unfolded its wings. As the shuttle cleared the treetops, the commandos were rocked by a loud explosion as the shuttle burst into flames.
There at the edge of the clearing, an Imperial rifleman stood holding his T21 rifle. Flanking the rifleman were several unarmed individuals wearing composite armor. Behind them, a couple troopers carried stun batons. The commandos quickly readied their flamethrowers, but they knew there was little chance of surviving. The Imperials had brought Teras Kasi Masters and Fencers to the fight. Flamethrowers and launcher pistols would do little good against these foes.
