a. The "broken" dances don't look like you are falling, they don't look like anything real. They are glitched and "broken" anims to the viewer. You slide across the floor in a slow-mo walk and jerk in and out of the intended anim. No RP in the world will help that.

b. Musicians don't have a fail mechanic like our falling.

Hate to be a hiney about it, but a Red Tag is reading and might get a confused message.

That does clear it up for the noob (me). I have read through the rest of the posts and I know that even by making macroing a bannable offense this would make you happy. But I can't make that call. I will bring it up with no promises made, ok? They will either tell me sure Tiggs or no way in hell due to whatever reason they have. So all I will promise coming out of this is I will ask. The worse I can be told is no =)

Thanks for responding to my thread I really appreciate it everyone.

Since I am the new kid on the block I would like to take a little survey to see what you feel is the most pressing issue with your profession right now. Wait! Don't post just yet, seriously think about this for a moment and post what "you" feel is important, not what you think the overall class feels is important. (Flamers, trolls need not reply). Please do not link me to another thread, I want it in "your" words.

There are no promises being made that you will see immediate changes implemented. This is simply to gauge what you feel is important so that I can discuss this further with the team. I am going through a few professions at a time so if you don't see this post in another forum you participate in, do not worry. I will get to the other forums in due time

Thanks in advance for taking the time out to do this.

P.S.

I am well aware of the sticky issues threads on the forum and the excel sheets that ThunderHeart has. The reason(s) "I" am doing this is 1. to get to know you, 2. get a better feel about your posting styles and 3. Gather fresh feedback from the community. If you feel like you are repeating yourself then please feel free to opt out of posting in this thread.

Tiggs,

I do want to thank you as well. It is better to have red names post than none at all. JFreeman is a legend and just a few short days.

I want to offer my constructive criticism again. The bit odd don'tcha think thing came off as dismissive.

Either:
You do not believe there is a problem with CH. There are CH problems. When we are in game we try to overlook them.
or
You believe that only whiners use forums and everyone else is playing the game (A la Haden). Lots of non-whiny posts have been discussed, yes even by myself. I prefer the idea threads to stay non-ranty. Lists like this should hit hard so maybe someone will understand their severity or see that "some" CH take them seriously.

or
You just don't care the facts were presented to you and you believe your friends silence is advocacy for everything being right with CH. There is a dictator in Burma who kills his own people and many foreigners that visit there as well. This is a problem that I do not rant about every day either. I know it is there, but because I remain silent is no indicator that a) I do not think there is a problem or b) a more proctective goverment should not remove the dictator from power. Before I talk about it, I have to believe people even care. As stated above, your friends (whom believe you to be a normal player) do not think you care either as a player or as a Dev. That is just the facts. You as a friend or a Dev have to prove differently.

Not against broad changes, just profession specific ones (read as CH) that go against what we've been told in the past.

Fencer is quick, agile profession with nice defenses overall. However our largest issue right now is our lack of damage output.

Even with a stun baton, our overall damage is almost completed voided by stun armor and psgs. Our best kinetic weapon, the gaderiffi stick, is Ap0.

Ideally, fencer needs at least one viable Ap1 weapon.

What's funny is thats all that it would take for you to fix unattended game play, make it "illegal". No dev time required, just a few warnings and maybe a banned account or two and people would get the idea. All that extra dev time could be put to use fixing all the other broken stuff in the game.

As easy as it sounds it is a bit more complicated then that. New rules will need to go into effect, call volume will increase considerably ect. Like I said it isn't my call to make but I will check into it.

Well, Tiggs, thank you for reading. I was fairly certain you had given up on us by now as we had no response from you on this thread in some time. I hope they listen to you on these ideas AFK play in particular. That is, as I'm sure you can see...our biggest single issue. There are others of high import as well, but this one is the tops.

first mwahahaha anyway

I am not a droid engineer. Actually to be perfectly honest I hate crafting. Bad. All those annoying named resources, sub components, vendors, the list goes on and on, I really don't like to mess with that stuff, I prefer to dance. That being said if I could stomach crafting I'd probably be a SW, the level of customization you can do there is phenominal. But my second choice would be DE, because they're the second most customizable class that I can think of

I think I'm qualified to speak here on the behalf of DE's as I've been told by about5 different DE's I was thier best customer, 3 of them told me that in a one week period. Since I discovered droids and was able to afford them last august or so, I have always kept my data pad full of a wide variety of them. While my chassis selection is admitedly somewhat limited, I pretty well know the strengths and weaknesses of all of them, and since money has never been an object I tend to shy away from the lower level chassis types and stay with the R3's, protocol, probots, and BLL's for the most part. Actually other than a few storage MSEs I picked up cheap for my combat alt pre-droid revamp, those are the only types I've ever owned.

Anyway, DE is probably the second most "star warsy" thing about SWG now that JTL is looming on the horizon. The droid invasion was a pretty misrable failure. The concept of a droid handler class that was essentially a copy of CH just with mechanical pets didn't set well with anybody. Not saying DH is a overall bad idea, the idea SOE threatened to implement was awful tho. The follow on droid patch, the one that added functionality to droids, was a blessing indeed. Droids, for the most part, can actually be used by most people in the game to enhance thier play, with the exception of pure template stackers... Unfortunately they're not really necessary for anything. Anything that can be done with a droid can be done without, tho droids do tend to enhance certain classes, doctors and scouts come to mind. Everything else is just for convenience. Which granted isn't a bad thing, but people aren't as willing to pay for something they just want as much as something they precieve they need. Also since quality of many modules is irrelevent, there is enough of a population of undercutters that just want to make ANY money, and thier crap resources make as good a droid as somebody's year old rare resources, leads to droid prices being less than they could/should be.

Also without any sort of decay on modules, a droid can be a one time purchase. If I hadn't upgraded my droids, the ones I had bought a year ago would still be working perfectly as I bought them. The only thing you need to keep them working is droid batteries, and thats a engineering 1 item in artisan, no DE required. JTL is even worse, flight computers are just awful. less than 200 metal for the level 6 one? Gimme a break, and the things should require droid brains, and maybe an equivalent level data module to function, its a mini computer after all!

DE to me has a lot of untapped potential if they can ever manage to squeeze in some dev time for them again, do a DH profession right, maybe as a base class, simmilar to FS skills where you turn in XP and learn boxes to be able to use higher level more powerful droid modules.

Basically DE's need to be needed, not just wanted, after that, they need some sort of decay for thier products that make them needed again(I would say not to add decay before finding ways to make them more required in the day to day game, as if the convinience of owning a droid is replaced by the inconvenience of always needing to get a new one, people will stop buying them, remember the old droid perma-death of the past, I know I stopped buying combat droids)
