Thread: Factories
My suggestion to you, is before coming to the boards and posting something that you didnt do any research on.....is research on it.
Factories are busted, and as you may or may have not figured out by now, they arent doing anything about it currently.

I don't see any reason, except that it may be fixed soon, for factories working properlynot to THE #1 priority for the chef class. Even if our buffs sucks, the lines make only a small bit a sense (if you make all the stuff in the order you get them, they kinda make sense, except for some exceptions like sunburns) and doctors and spices outdo us,people still buy it. And in order for chefs to get greater recognition and customer flow, we need to sell lots.
However:
Most chefs refuse to use factories because it "jips" their customers out of uses.I believe this is only partly so. When making a schematic for a factory as it is now you can completely forget about the quantity and experiment like crazy on duration and effectiveness. This is exactly the same as making a very good, long lasting food by hand, and usually when you do this you get at most 2 or 3 uses out of the food. So yes, ina way we are jipping people out of uses. However, many people like my crates solely because they see it as one stack of 25, therefore taking up less inventory space. Also, by charging by resources and not quantity for crates, I get the base price for 1 food made by hand. I then charge alittle more per use after that when making the food by hand. Items still sell, because even though the price is higher per use, people aren't spending as much in one shot as with a crate, but they still get more than one use. I charge more per use simply because its by hand (everything "hand-made" always costs more).
Not only does it make sense, I agree. I even posted something to the same effect earlier.
Misterie
I might agree on a few items, but certainly not on the high end master items. I would not even agree when it comes to tatooine sunburn.
I only sell 9 stacks of sunburn anymore. Using your method of making 25 use crates, thats 7500 per crate. (I sell for 300 a use).
Were I to use the SAME resources to make 25 stacks of 9 charge sunburns, thats 67500 credits. By using a factory to sell 25 use crates, you are wasting 60k potential profit.
Having that problem currently.
Essentially, the factory is acting like you're not the owner, even though you are. It's a bug, and it's really frustrating. I don't have the 50k to spend on another factory (that's the cheapest price I could find an Architect to quote me) and I'm going to need more factory components really soon.
I ticketed mine... but we all know about how well that works. Currently I have 70k in messed up or missing items ticketed, since my droid disappeared.
I totally agree with everything you said SFSith...........
Your posts are too hard to understand.
If you use high quality ingredients, the product generally has multiple uses before you even start experimenting.
I have a chef friend who frequently crafts food items (Tatooine sunburns for example) and I am a medic (soon to be Doctor). Is a there a single factory that could accomodate the crafting of both food and medical items (stims, components, etc...)? If so, I would really be interested in knowing what kind of factory this is, and how much it commonly sells for (along with maintenence & power needs), so my friend and i could split the costs of maintenence and power. I'm sure this question has been answered before elsewhere, but after scouring the forums for a while I have not come to any conclusion. Thanks in advance for any assistance!
All factories for producing food and stims are Food/Chem factories. So you could not by one that did not do both even if you wanted to. Thats a really good idea to save money with the chef but they take so much time that you might end up having to get two. What you should share is a power generator for both as they are expensive to up keep.
Okay,
It seems that other people aren't having problems with their factories and I am so I must be doing something wrong.
How do I get the factory to produce seeker droids? I am sure I have the exact components required (serialz checked and everything) but my factory is still not producing. I have tried with the components in and out of the crates.
Would someone be so kind as to help me out here?
Thanks,
Bon Joros
