As it turns out, I have all the parts to build shuttleports on Ahazi in stock, including a few crates of the ADV Protocol Droid chassis, so I can whomp one up in a couple of minutes. Send a /tell or e-mail to Marsten. I don't stock them (or any civic structure) on my vendor (I'm aware of the shuttle cap per planet and even more aware of the resources they blow), but I try to keep the parts to build any civic structure on hand for just such an emergency. I haven't had a call to build exotic gardens, so to build those I'd have to chase up the necessary flora components--something I probably should do anyway. You never know when someone will want a Dathomirian garden, stranger things have happened.

Because there is more than one architect in the guild, I tend to concentrate on Naboo style structures, leaving the Tatooine and Corellian markets to other architects.

But this post is off topic, so a bit to bring it back on topic: location, location, location. For me, that doesn't meanputting a shopin the shantytown (what I call the ring of player structures that inevitably spring up just outside the no-build zone surroundingthe big cities like Theed or Coronet), with a 1000 meter swoop ride and critters thoughtfully provided, ready to aggro your customers outside your shop door. The ability for someone to find you on a player search doesn't outweigh those disadvantages, as I see it. A good location is a shop near a shuttleport and a bank (for ease in direct trades as opposed to vendor sales) in an established andstable player city. A mall with other well-stocked vendors is always a draw because of cross-sales.

You can also do very well if you an Architect in a new city provided the new mayor knows what he or she is doing, has the time and talentto put into growing the city, and doesn't expect you to build everything for free. I always warn players buying a City Hall about the 24-hour self-destruct if they don't get ten player residents, and that I will not replace it for free if it goes boom.

Planetary vendor registration can be useful, but if you are in a shantytown, your planet flag will be lost in dozens of others.

People don't buy furniture to advertise you or your business. Resist the temptation to brand your name on everything. If people want to know who built that crafting station and what its Functionality Rating is, they'll Examine it. Any other furniture is the same no matter who built it, so branding it is just empty vanity. If you want to temporarily "brand" it,usethe Seller's Description of Item when you put it up for sale. In fact, I do just that to amuse buyers.

For example, on Ahazi there are no shuttleports for sale. Quantities of large houses are very low. Only 2 types of exotic gardens for sale (about 5 total), etc.

Sad because I need to buy all of these.

Pretty sure Orozsco is going to hook me up though.

Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they're not for sale. They may not be REGISTERED. Besides, what's the point in selling shuttleports if every planet on your server is locked? Guess things are strange on your server, because on Kettemoor, I stock one of every garden possible and two of each special garden. And of there are the ones that the other architects stock.

I'm not into big money, I play in a rather relaxed fashion, so this is really only good if you do it on the side for fun. What I do to keep my meager earnings up involves travel. Odds are if your a fighter, you have money. Travel around, go to the naked harsh planets that barely have anything on their bazzaars and sell there. Check out regional sales and fill in the gaps, it works for me every time.

Get yourself a LARGE house and display matching sets, noobs love that stuff. 2 vendors is the minimum you should own, one for backstock, and one for sales, but the more you have, the more organized you can be.

It's not much advice, but it keeps me in there.
