Hmm, thats not a particularly inspiring list really.

Surely with smuggler you lot can use things like Intimidate and FD and kill some really big mobs. I manage to kill some of the high end stuff solo with just Pistoleer and and bit of CM and Doc.

Granted, it takes ages, expensive armour and weapons and every buff you can lay your hands onbut it's possible.

I've killed Tusken Observers, Giant Canyon Krayts and other heavy armoured stuff solo.

I suppose the CM dots do a lot of the work though.

Well its all about fun I guess - I guess I could take on pretty much anything as I have FD so I could just land Torso\Bleed and FD and repeat - would take a log time and not my idea of fun.

All I can say i if those kind of creatures aren't inspiring to solo then what you gonna do after the combat upgrade!

And those are just a few.... I was just trying to make the point that Medium Armour and High Resists do not mean its out of the question for a Pistoleer.

Is CH worth it with the CU? I miss CH dearly, but on TC it sucked big. The whole lack of /peace thing killing every creature I try to tame pisses me off. But beside that, What should I expect from CH in the CU? In PvP, is it worth something now? Should I now divert points back to it?

Also, I have a graul and graul mauler in my datapad....... what will happen to them when I log on? They're from the wild(not test tube babies) but will they do the jump to CL 200 or what?

Graul maulers go to 51. There's another thread that lists the Graul and what they go to. Yes, not having /peace is a pain, but as far as I know attacking doesn't start until you initiate it, so how are you going to kill a baby? Also, the pets are tougher now, even the babies can take a hit or two before you can run away from them.

I like CH the same as I always did. In fact, it's new and exciting if anything because the rares I couldn't have before I can now have and they've opened up the flood gates for babies. I'm interested to see if they actually created a pharple baby or not. I think I'll go look tomorrow morning.

This CU has turned everything upside down. You can't look at your pet levels and think the old way, because there's a new combat upgrade. The whole system is different. Your old pet level was adjusted to the new pet level to bring it in line with the new combat system.

Stupid forums...wrote a relatively lengthy response only to have it fail!! Well...to sum up my impression after spending about 30 min. running my pets through some relatively simple missions...don't waste your points on this prof! I've been a master ch for a long time. I love this prof and don't see any benefits to it based on the changes. I play solo for the most part and do a lot of hunting. I was incapt by a single bol while using 2 - be pets that previously were awesome in combat. The bol shook them off and ignored them as if they weren't even there.

I hope someone can explain to me the benefits of this prof! I love CH, but after having give up my remaining Ranger skills to keep it (please explain to me why they had to take 14 skill points from us???) it just doesn't seem worth it if I have trouble taking down a single bol!!

What have they done to us????

I hate to say you were told so, but you were. If you had read anything about the combat upgrade you'd find one common theme... that no one profession was going to be able to go out and solo, and that the new combat upgrade promotes grouping. You can't solo anymore, in other words. Period. That's what the new combat upgrade is all about.

It's amazing after all of the info we've received on the CU, and all of the info available on the SWG site, people still think CH (or any profession) is going to be able to take on things they used to be able to. I'm not saying this to be mean, but the info was readily available for you to read and understand before the CU.

Pencil pushers in CA can't tell anyone what to expect from a profession, therefore we have the forums.

The whole reason for the combat upgrade was to do away with some professions that outpowered others and to balance out PVP and PVE. Take TK for instance. Before the CU I could go to Dathomir and kill rancors like they were durni's outside of Coronet. That's way overpowered. Yes, it was nice to have something that powerful and have no worries, but it was also too unbalanced when you consider a pistoleer or rifleman took5 times as long to kill the same creatures. Ever since the beginning people have been flocking to the FOTM (flavor of the month), or the most powerful profession they could find. PVP was unbalanced thanks to bugs that allowed exploits and the imbalance of the combat professions. Something had to be done. Everything is now way more balanced than it ever was. PVP is now about tactics and strategy, not standing there spamming specials. PVE is now about teamwork to achieve a common goal, not one wookiee soloing giant dune kimo's. You won't have one person soloing krayts or one person soloing phat loot mobs. The days of hording loot items and selling them for outrageous credits is over. Yes, the items will still be expensive, but people will be less inclined to take advantage of otherswhen grouped.
