"You *can* make a profit on the higest end stuff, by marketing it to the top 5% demographic."
The demoraphic your targeting would generally be expected to fall under these parameters:
- Have insane amounts of credits to throw away
- Not be supported by a PA
- And actually has a need or desire for this type of food stuff.
Most major PA's will have their own bio-engineers setup and making this stuff for themselves. What your going to be trying to find is a non pa person who has insane amounts of cash to throw away on single item buffs that last 5-10 minutes.
I never said it couldn't happen. But from a strictly business point of view, I'd say your targeted demographic is to small to be of use to 99% of other bio-engineers.
Good luck finding this person.

Where do the Med Enhancers fall into the Tissues Line? I have been slowly raising BE for some time now and got lucky now that it is going to have a greater use to me as a chef
What I'm wondering is how high do you have to raise Tissues to get Med Bio Enhancers I currently have TE3 and am now working on the Experimentation line.
Sorry if this was covered in this thread. If it was I must be reading poorly at this time of night ![]()

Sorry to intrude on a BE thread but as a top end master chef I had to pay attn to this board 'cause I'm gonna need you guys like you ain't never been needed before! ![]()
And I am exactly this profile- net worth: around 35M, client base: mostly PvP community, PA: 4 people- none of them crafters or hunters, needs: full 1000 run schematics of lots of these supplements whenever possible or as close to 1000 as can be done.
Whatt I bring to the table? Customers willing to pay lots of credits. Lots of my own resources...
I am already doing 1000 run schematics of chef food requiring Domesticated meat or other specific meat types. Its a Pain in the #$%, but its doable... I find its all about the hunters- finding good ones, not hesitating to pay them 60 per unit (or more) for some meats... the Hardcore PvP community I serve has no problem "paying their bill (the hunters') if I can supply them with the best buffs.
So really the shortage is hunters IMO, not customers willing to pay. And if anyone's on Chilastra, look me up ![]()
I can get about 6k meat in a day... MCH and Rifleman... after about 6k I just cant stand killing the same things over and over again... really need more hunters... I cant even begin to say how much money could be made by everyone if there were more hunters...
Hunters make money by selling what the harvest
Crafters make money by using the harvested product in their product
buyer make money buy using the product to hunt so they can sell what they harvest and make creds doing missions...
too bad we dont have the hunters to meet the demand put on us by the hunters...
"I can get about 6k meat in a day"
Lets look at the logistics of this.
An earlier post mentioned a person will need 90k meat to makea run of 100 of these items? Is that correct? Is 90k the correct number for a 100 item run?
If it is, then a bio-engineer will need 2-6 people out hunting down a particular meat, day in, day out, everyday to get the supply.
Meat resources change every 7-10 days, what was good one week can be crap the next week. Furthermore, its entirely likely that the good meat could end up on some newbie planet where the biggest thing you kill only yields 30-40 meat a harvest.
The manpower needed to gather 90k meat before the resource changes is staggering.
And this doesn't even include the, 'I'm sick of killing this stupid animal' syndrome mentioned by the previous poster that will severely reduce your meat collection efforts.
This entireconceptis borked. People can sit around all day long with pie in the sky theories about this and that and what not, but where the rubber meets the road is what counts. Don't give me a bunch of theory, give me some real results from the test center. Yes, I know the test center has a *LOW* population, but whatever, make a batch of this on the test center and lets see how well it sells.

Now I'm agreeing with you ![]()
But the numbers are a little off... the worst of the schems looks like 85K meat to make 1000 items and its 45K of one type (wild I believe) and 40K of another (generic? Carnivore?) So its really 45K max of any one type to make 1000 items. Don't get me wrong- I think this sux. Just wanted to clarify tho...

40k of 1 type and 45k of another type? That exponentially compounds the logistics of it all.
Just as an example:
I harvested a bunch of dant wild meat on chilastra because the stats are really good. In3 hours of play, killing every quenker we could and doing missions, I scored about 10k of meat and there were 3 people in my group who could harvest.
Thats 3 people,3-4 hours a day for 4 days just to get 40k of one type of meat. Maybe a master scout/tka could do gather the meat faster, I dunno, but I think the devs are really out of control on this meat issue, no one is going to spend that much time hunting meat no matter what you pay them.

Hmm. I'm a CH as well as a master BE. I hunt with my PA once or twice a week. Could be 4 or 5 times a week if I changed my priorities and stopped spending so much time sampling.
In a typical hunt I harvest 2.5k or more of one type of meat, and a few 500 heaps of some others. My companions variously do better or worse (it's always nice to have a ranger along
). I come out after a 3 hour hunt with 10k+ of (usually) carnivore meat and 3k or 4k of a couple of others. This is "paid" for in pet stims, pets etc. That's quite enough to run a crate or two of something "special".
If I asked my friends to do a trip to collect one particular sort of meant (done this for dath insect a couple of times) then we can collect 20k in an evening.
We're not a fanatical PA, we play for the fun of it, there's no "3 line whip" on attending hunts or anything. I'd imagine a disciplined and organised PA could double this.
So, I'll be making some high-end additives, I know several chefs who are just itching to get their hands on them, and I'll be making a comfortable, but not excessive, profit while having the fun of making something out of the ordinary.
This is a multi-player game. Make friends, work with people, whether it's by buying meat and selling on the boards to the 1% with more money than sense, by making business arrangements with a rich chef, or just trading off favours in your PA.

wish you were on chilastra
I'm on chilastra Odds, and I should be able to pull that off as well... feel free to look me up.
