One more thing about pricing. I wouldnt go by CL because if you make a REALLY good lvl 30 pet, and base your pricing off of the lvl, what do you price your not so good lvl 30 pets at?

Wow...a lot of interesting stuff here in between the bickering. All I wanted to do was get a good pricing scheme for when I am Master BE and am creating creatures for sale. Most of my money is made off of Pet Stims and my guild gets free pets....to test them etc.

Thanks for the good advice on the pricing.

I charge 1200per cL, 5k for light armor, 1k per 10% resist, 5k for med special, 7k for strong special. and 4k for a base special..
example

lvl 48 merek
light AR
54% kinetic
50% energy
50% cold
50% heat
80% electric(i believe)

and a few others.....turns into 112k

I'm going to go with 1K per CL plus a nebulous factor for coolness/useful combination of traits. Special orders that take a lot of effort could be 3X as much. I don't see charging much over 150K for a top of the line super high level pet.

Anything high end is going to cost, big time cost.

Quite the stand your making there. That kind of flippant attitude is exactly what BEs don't need. Thankfully there are alot of BEs out there that don't subscribe to your way of thinking. I personally have donated a million credits to a couple of BEs on my server to help them research without having to worry about ticket prices and stuff like that.

Yes CHs gouged when mounts came out. I personally was not a MCH at that time and have rarely sold anything. So you publicly state that you are no better, in-fact worse because your doing it out of spite.

I didn't log on until about a week after the mounts went in, but I do seem to recall from most of the posts and conversations that the CH's weren't setting the prices on mounts.....it was the buyers offering that much money. Now, as soon as that trend was identified, quite a few did stop 'selling' and instead were offering them to the highest bidders....but it was all driven by demand. Don't blame the CH's for taking money that was freely offered to them.

Anyway...I sold exactly one mount for 10k'ishso who knows..... =P

the prices I ask are
for the CL26 kaadu with 7k HAM, mounted, good kinetic and energy resistance, about 250max dmg dizzy strike and blinding strik attack -> 30k
CL10 (non ch) kaadu 4k HAM, 19 kinetic, 140 max dmg, mounted, sold for 25k, asked 20k
"failures" between 500cr and 3k on the bazaar

if I had to sell my CL26 vir vur (310 max damage, around 40% kinetic and energy, 7k HAM, strong poison and ranged attack), I'd ast about 35k

CL13 to CL22/23 pets are sold between 8k and 20k

not sure about the stats posted, check the pictures I posted somewhere in the BE forum.

Great point, that is exactly what happened.

I was shocked how things progressed at the time, but with hindsight its easy to understand what happened. I play from Europe so it was easy to get on Kauri when the servers came up. Outside Coronet Star port I saw mounts going for around 50k early on, and as you can imagine with most new 'items' people wanted them and they wanted them now. Whatmost peopledidnt understand was the mounts took several days to grow, so people started to spam "paying 100k fully grown mount". As the stockpile of grown mounts was depleted over the rest of the day, you got to the point where people were offering 750k to a millionupwards!? (I was one of the suckers who sold my 2 mounts for 50k early on)

I dont think people can be blamed for price gouging. It was just that initial rushcombined withthe way mounts arecreated that pushed up the price.

A BE will make his money on repeat stim business - so it makes no sense to screw your customers over pet prices.

Obviously some DNA is gonna be painful to get and some results stunning.

Quality will always cost.

I would like to say congrats on your profession fix. And I think you should get payed well for your creations. However I find it unforunate that some would take the opportunity to "get even" with CH's. I'm a ch and I have never once charged anyone for training, though I believe itis not unreasonable to do so. Good luck and I look forward to buying a bio-engineered pet.

I used to use a complex formula for calculating pet prices, but it got to be too much of a pain. Now i try to keep it simple. 1k per level. 5k per strong special. 2k for ranged. after that I'll add in whatever I feel the time involved was worth. Usually not more than 10k.
