2 Problems I find with Krayt hunting
You area track and by the time you have scrolled through the list and said the distance someone in your group has alread y given a waypoint for it.
The otherproblem on Chimera is houses near the Krayt graveyard, when I first started playing in march I remember there being few house and multiple krayts, now over time houses have been place on/near those locations which I am not 100% sure but I think it destroys the spawn zone, last week a house was placed on top of a very healthy zone.

Last night was a great night on Shadowfire for Krayt Hunting. The only people while searching I happenned along ever were my two groupmates. Thats why it was great, however....in 4 hours I never tracked ONE, ;et alone even see one.
I had my groupmates out "tripping" spawn locations and making a presence in hopes of triggering spawns. One of my mates hunted krayts for a whole month before, everyday. Not a ranger, but he sent me a collection of like 20 waypoints of spawns he had seen, a nice tight circle. I covered that area, twice the distance around it, and a smaller circle within it......and nothing

They KNOW, y'see.
If you're looking for them they hide under a stone. Then, when you're up there for a wander, just minding your own beeswax, pip pap pop. Dragons a-go-go.
When I first got tracking I took a group of friends into the valley. No hope of killing a krayt, little chance of escaping with our skins if one DID pop but, after a dogs age, we'd found nothing but bantha and, well, more bantha really.
Then I decide to go get some quiet time, head on up there, wander around, log and next day the place is swarming with the brutes when I logged in. I'd not mind but this big wook standing beside me as I loaded was asking if i could find a krayt, offering good hard cash, and by the time I was actually IN game properly there was a huge one not 200m from us!
Unfortuantely he noticed before he got round to paying me. /shrug

Well, I have managed to track 5 Kryats in the last 2 dayts while hunting with guildmates attempting to help our Jedi.
Found:
1 juvinille (found way before anyone)
1 canyon (found way before anyone)
1 giant canyon (found at same time as group)
2 scythe quest ones...which i guess don't really count
I have to say, seeing Krayt pop up in the tracking box is extremely exciting. If you can get people to just fly around on swoops to trigger spawns hunting krayts can be a lot of fun!
Good luck all!

I've only found one and that was having it;s arse kicked.
It is nice to hear of different experiences good and bad. So the game is still giving and taking enjoyment. lol

With no other profession at all... Maybe with good buffs and armor you could take a juvenile canyon krayt...

tkm stacker (swordsman, fencer, rifles, pistols etc) with 4xxx medic should have no problem.

Light AP knuckler vs heavy armor you're looking at a 2 figure damage at most... It's doable but you'll probably die of old age first

Not trying to Bragg here but I take down Juvi's alone no problem with TKM and very little else in the way of combat skills and my defenses are NOT that high.
One of the big boys is a different story tho.

I was bored one day out at a town on my server out by the graveyardand decided to try this out. It was a canyon krayt, which has (i believe) 90 kinetic resists. At the time I had fencer 4440 and some doc. It took me a LONG FREAKIN TIME and cost me a suit of armor, but I prevailed in the end and looted composite segments. waste of my life.
If you keep the great beast intimidated and your armor doesn't go, you should be able to take the non-giant variety with ease, but make sure your buffs are fresh and you've got some time to burn. I used a macro that healed, intimidated, and spammed UH3 while I watched football and popped some brandy from time to time. It was the least exciting thing i've done in-game next to crafting.
