the holo grinders/ Jedi trolls say 5 days grinding or 1.5 weeks reg play. In truth even at I grind I would have to say investigation tree 3 weeks at best, and the rest would depend on the skills and defenses you drag with you from other proffesions

Hi all first of all I'm not a commandonoramIhere to flame/cry nerf or whatever. I just have a question that you guys should be able to answer and thank you all in advance for any decent replies
Please read the whole post or don't reply at all.
I came across a rather irritating little (ok big wookie)rebel mastercommando today who wasspouting abuse to any andall imperials he came across. Even going so far as to order neutrals to go rebel (if that is the publicity rebels use I'm suprised there are not more imperials). So I thinkmaybe if Ilet him be, he'd go away.Butafter 10 minutes of hearing him abuse every single person he comes across andasking him to be polite (resulting in me getting the brunt of his abuse, he wasn't even overt at the time, nor was I),I decide todo my imperial duty and put him out of his misery (being Master Pikeman and not much else except some TK defense and noviceranger, I know that PvP is not my thing), I duel him and send him to the cloner in very little time (to my own suprise actually, I still can't figure out how I did it).
When he gets back he says he wants a rematch, me being a fair sport I accept and we fight again next thing I know I get hit for 2000+ flame damage from his flamethrower. So I get burned to cinders, ah happens you know, maybe he got a lucky hit, lets try again (mostly because the abuse hadn't stopped and I had seen his wounds rack up so I decided to get him out of Bestine for a while to lick his wounds). I pull out my very crappy standard NS lance (really nothing special a 40 health tick for 1200s, mostly very annoying but nothing else and great for getting rid of jerks, I don't usually do PvP unless it's a friendly duel or to get rid of people like this one) and we fight again, I luckily manage to get the first hit in and land my disease before again he hits me for 2000+ damage.
Afterwards I compared the damage we dealt to each other in the combat spam and every single flame hit of his did that much damage, I was wondering if this is normal, if so more power to you guys
and I know better than to fight commando's
but if he was using an exploit I have never heard off (which wouldn't suprise me) that is an entirely different matter.
Sorry about the long winded post, but I wanted to give you guys the (nearly)full story so no one can complain about something lacking and again this is not a rant or flame (well I got flamed badly but hey
, you win some you lose some)
Thanks again for bearing with me

I was just wearing my Mabari (to help our guilds armorsmith get exp) and of course I was using center, I just didn't realise this damage output was so huge especially in PvP. Thanks for the reply though
No more fighting commando's for me even if they are potty mouthed 13 year olds

My Mabari has 5% heat resist, but I see ... euhm ... okay so much damage. I'm staying away from commando's from now on.
Too badI can't teach that littlebrat a lesson about politeness (I prefer to fight unbuffed and wearing as little armor as possible).

Does Mabari have any heat resists to it? If you'd had composite, he'd have been hard pressed to dropped you.

I don't think Mabari has heat resist. A Commando Flame does up to 12000 damage, but only fires about every 10 seconds (Depending on Dam/Speed of Flamer.) If you'd had a pretty standard suit of Composite, You'd have only taken about 300 damage.

As Razer says the commando specials do huge amount of damage to unarmored targets. Even flamesingle1 can drop unarmored and unbuffed players in one hit (taught me not to experiment on guildmates
).

i have a noob question for AS. what is a good restance to go for on kinetic layers? then if i use 3 of those layers in a comp segment what should the kinetic stats look like in a segment. just wondering. i can make 80% kinetic with 56% base and 70% to electric, i know my base sucks but i have to use all my exp points to get it to 80% kinetic. with a slice my base gets to alittle over 70%. im only a 10 point AS. my layers come to like 12 to 14%, and my segments are 33 to 35% kinetic and 13% base or so can remember the base, im just wonderinghow i can get this better so i can spend my exp points on something else. what are the stats i should shoot for to get 80% kinetic 70% base and 70% electric. thanks for the help.

Should be the other way on the segments. The base is the most important part, experiment that up first. Get the base as high as possible first.
On layers, only get them high enough that they will be able to hit what you want and put the other points into raising the base. The last batch of kintic layers I made were 4% base 6% kinetic. The base helped up the base on the segments and armor itself. It I had gone above 6% kinetic per, it would have been a waste. For refrence, my recent triple kinetic layered segments are 32% base, 18% kinetic, 12% elec. I hit 80% kinetic 80% elec 67% base with that setup.
