Thread: Contact the Devs

I have said this before and I'll say it again...

...please put yourself in the Dev's shoes. They are huge (like size 20+). They have a budget, they have a limited staff, they have a game that is incredibly HUGE, most of all they have a responsibility to the WHOLE game!

This means that it is going to ALWAYS be a physical impossibility to keep everyone happy. Just not gonna happen! Wookies wanted armor...they got it, Doctors wanted buffs, they got them, we wanted more content...ahhh can you say JTL, we wanted bug fixes, we are getting them, hmmm, let's see...vehicles, mounts, Image Designer revamp, better weapons, more pets...

...should I keep going? Folks...be realistic here...we are asking and we are receiveing...NO it cannot be done overnight, no not everyone will be happy (look at the poor smugglers). Will all of our responses be answered...

...probably not! But darn it! I think we have been treated pretty nice in the last year or so. I have been on board since Beta and I tell you folks, there have been a TON of changes boith good and bad sincve release.

All I can say is that at one point the navigation menues WERE MONOCHROME!!!! This is a "growing" game that is alive! It will take time and it will ALWAYS need to be balanced. That's what makes it awesome! It can grow and be molded to our whim...

...just be patient and think constructively rather than destructively!

ahhhhh....sorry for the vent but posts like these just get my boxers in a bunch!

Well, i don't think you are completely right there... These forums are also ment to be the interface to our correspondent Vertexon... So, if he is checking our discussions (what he is doing), then he will carry our issues/thoughts to the devs.

Yes, that is exactly the case. It's no so much a matter of us not being heard, but rather of scheduling constraints. Right now the Devs are focusing on a successful Publish 10 and JTL launch, so a lot of things just can't be done yet(including the much-needed Combat Revamp).

That said, they are working on getting as many "interim fixes" in between now and JTL as possible (which includes the CM/Doc stuff we have already seen on Test Center). I presented our list of recommended CH interim fixes, and have been inquiring as to what we might be able to get.

Vert, what was on the list of recommended CH interim fixes? I've checked around and don't see them posted anywhere. Have I missed them?

Shipwright will be a new and exciting profession in Star Wars Galaxies. It allows players to build some of their favorite starships, and sell them to other players based on factional standing. Thanks for inquiring!

shame they wont be able to store any of it in their vendors

I dunno, 660 starships seems like an awful lot to me...

Thanks for the reply.

I have seen that list, but I do not think that is the list that Vert was talking about when he mentioned the "interrim CH fix" list. I would imagine that this new list would be shorter and list things that were quick fixes to help tied us over until the combat revamp.

To directly contact the Devs, go to the main page of the website, then to support, then to Submit Feedback. These forums are just for talking to other players. There is no guarantee they will hear you here. I'm printing this in case someone doesn't know...

You can also just call the number in my sig, punch up the directory, and search for the developers names...

Ah, thanks for the link. I had not seen that post. When I come to the CH boards, I try to scan the list of posts, and then try to read all of your posts.

If I may, I'd like to offer a suggestion. When you make these kinds of posts, perhaps it would be more helpful to make them new posts and sticky them for however long that they are valid topics. This might also help with the perception that you aren't as active as some might like.

By the way, are you still soliciting feedback for these?

No, if you've already submitted them, that's fine. It's a great list for our interrim changes. I can't wait to see what comes of it.

Thanks, Vert.
