I've posted the same question in the weekly roundtable discussion threads for the past three weeks. The one time Thunderheart responded, he had no idea what I was talking about. Here is the post.:

Sorry to say but I think the one time you got an answer, you blew the question. You had TH thinking about the Geo dungeon and referencing the secret ingredient at the same time. He never said he didn't know about the Data, he just didn't know about the dungeon, and at the same time, didn't know about the reference to the Data in relation TO the dungeon.
But then again, if we asked a direct question "Where do we find the Secret Research Data called for in BE crafting?", I'm sure the question would go unanswered. I think TH just picked your question cause it was an easy one to sidestep, and look sort of like he addressed it.

Yeah, it was my bad for not being more specfic in the first place, but I thought having it on the first or second page for 3 weeks in a row after I clarified, it would have been answered. Guess I was wrong. I'll just wait till monday and post it again, and I encourage everyone else to post the same question in their own way, that's the only way to get an answer.

So, let me guess. This Secret Research Data is so secret that not even a Dev knows about it? Wow!! Then again, I was talking to a guildmate and he told me a story of when the camo kits became something Rangers could get. There was one kit for Lok (if memory serves me correctly) that required Lokian Wild Meat. The problem was, no creature on Lok gave Wild Meat, so the kit was uncraftable. So, along those lines the following more than likely happend: They probably threw it in, thinking "hey, this sounds cool" then, sat back drank a few kegs, hit the 'distribute patch' button before placing a drop for the data and forgot about the whole thing.
Or, a group of maybe some Gypsies placed a forgetfullness curse on them that night...yeah, that's the ticket!

My current thinking is that it may be in the next dungeon.. the corvette... Not sure but all we have right now are guesses..

I realize he's only the community relations guy. All I'm asking him to do is go ask someone that knows and just say, yes, it's in the game, or no it's not. I don't need a long explanation of why or why not. Just a yes, or no, which is what I asked for in my post. I'm doing quests and looking because I probably won't get an answer, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Reminds me of another issue we had that they had no idea it was even wrong and they responded before they really listened and tested. That is working as entended. They tested. Yes this is wrong, we will work on it. I forgot what that was but don't matter, it like everything else. They just don't respond but yet say they read all the threads.

I know it because it's a proven fact. Unless your brain dead you would have known that as well by reading these forums regularly. We as a community have been searching for this research data since the option was added to crafting and it's -not- in the game yet. TRUST ME.
I welcome you to go hog wild and spend a few weeks to come to the same conclusion.
Unless you have some proof that it's actually in the game somewhere, I kindly ask you to shut your trap.
Oh and on a side note: If your looking for developer confirmation on -anything-, your wasting your time, they don't care.

Just because it hasnt been found doesnt mean it doesnt exist. Unless a developer says it is not it the game then it is not a 'proven fact' - merely speculation based on available data.
On farstar the Gorax was killed as soon as it was put back in the game and hasnt been seen since - it doesnt mean it doesnt exist, we may only speculate that it may have been removed or its spawn is broken and finding the Gorax is much easier than finding 'secret research data' since no-one knows what it is or where it *should* come from.
You state catagorically that it is supposed to be in the geo cave but isnt but can provide no evidence that this is where it is supposed to drop

FWIW TH isnt a dev, he's just the community relations guy - he doesnt know everything and he isnt supposed to know everything - he only know's what he's told.
