I'd like some feedback on this if possible.

I am not a master BE. Even if I sample all Rancor DNA the highest level I have ever been able to get because of lack of Experiment points is level 31. I never touched nocous DNA. Most my pets have been made with Webmaster and assorted Rancor DNA.

90% can now not be called. A ton of level 22-24 pets that I made and use are now invalid, and all I did was use good dna and use my measly experiment points as i could. It really apears that If I was able to get Armor on any of them they are now invalid..

I thought I was acting honorably by not making or selling the non-ch bugged pets, but now it aperas that all my pets were bugged. Or more apropriatly the system was bugged before so Now everything i did the last 3-4 weeks was invalid.

Any one else have this problem?

Well considering that most pets made using less than all your experimentation points at master were rendered invalid, it would pretty much be a given that a non-master couldn't make much anything other than invalid pets.

Man what a disaster. I'm just glad I haven't been producing any pets for sale (new to the BE game) and have just been playing around to see how things worked. I really feel for the guy above who used his limited BE skills to try and make some money - and now finds himself completely in the hole.

By the sound of this *cough* fix, it isn't a fix at all, it's just a bandaid to stop themfrom being called.

An actual fix wouldnot allow invalid pets to be created in the first place...

Well before you start ragging SOE, like I said above.. I have not tested to see if I can still make them or not, so maybe they did.

Ok.. an update and this is not real good.

It appears that the Picket / Bol recipe to make 1st gen CL 10 pets also makes invalid pets.. this bites, I have sold a ton of those.

The Scooby-Doo Mystery BE pet system is getting old, especially thanks to no communication from any official SOE people and us having to decode it twice (maybe three times).

Slowly reading my way thru the forums and this made me LOL.... wonder if I have room in my signature for it. Brilliant humor.

Lets make a list shall we?

We have:

Smugglers that won't slice for fear of being banned

BEs that won't make pets for fear of selling an unuseable pet

Entertainers that have stopped dancing/playing music because of the AFKers

1,2,3,4...... maybe 6 elite combat classes that have serious issues that make the proffesions not only extremely difficult, but no fun to play.

A GCW that fewer people participate in every day because of things like decay (which only effects armor and tools in a negetive way not clothes, like it was intended to do), 'balance' (see definition below) and 0 rewards

Holocron grinders.... don't get me started on how bad I just screwed up my favorite character

Approximately 2 relevant posts per day total on the boards from the Devs

0 useable information from those posts

MAJOR bugs in EVERY proffesion

City Malitia with nothing to do but grant you the right to put your house/factory/whatever down.

NERFd mobs

NERFd xp

Crappy... no... worthless loot. (Gotta keep those crafters in the game ya know!) The combatents will be happy to just go around and shoot the same stuff over and over and over and over and over and over and over becuase there really isn't anything to look for.

Milk.... no wait...

Eggs... O.o

Fish... O.o

Creaturesthat can be found by searching a lair, which can then be made into something so totally worthless, that it is beyond reason why this was ever implemented.

Content! Wait... no, that's not right. Delivery missions! (Personally, I have been a messenger boy for nearly every NPC in the game - gonna start 'Ackeko's Overnight Express' )

and last, but not least, the exact same info about the game you got from SOE at launch day - go figure it out, we'll tell you when you do something wrong. Then we'll NERF it! So you get to start all over!

Did I miss anything?

Before you flame (someone alway does) I was one of the first Master BE's I have literally hundreds of pages of notes and calcs from pre-patch(nerf/break/cluster f...) that I used in an attempt to figure out the elusive 'uber pet' design. Truth was... there wasn't one. I have been nearly every proffesion in the game. Mastered about 1/3-2/5 on several different servers (thank you SOE for the hint! wish i woulda known that 6 MONTHS AGO before I started filling character spots!!!) And, I play the game because of the people IN it. NOT the people running it.

balance: (bal`ance) To make it so anyone at any level is equal to anyone at any other level. ie. A novice pistoleer should be equal in combat to a master commando or master BHor master TKA or master Doc with no fighting abilities.

nerf: (nerf`) 1. To implement changes in such a way as to deflect fault from ones programming abilities. 2. To remove/change/hinder a piece of programming code instead of fixing it.

Greatest patch notes to date: (4 months after launch) BEs should (should? what the heck? you aren't sure??) now be able to craft items in a factory.

--Side note from SOE: BTW, we know you couldn't use any of this stuff before because of the factory issue, but we decided to change most of em anyways! Have a nice day!

Ok all, I'm going to play devils advocate here. I'm currently grinding through the BE profession and having a heap of fun. Part of the fun with this is the experimentation of DNA mixes and what the results from them are (e.g. lowered CL's etc).

Now surely this is where the BE comes into it's own? You wouldn't expect a person who can change the DNA of something not to want to make changes (such as lowering DNA, adding special attacks etc). So why is this being removed? Part of the fun of this is to build higher level creatures with lower CL's (e.g. dewbacks with good stats that are lvl 10 so that they can be mountable and sold to non-CH characters).

So following the logic that they don't want us selling uber-pets to non-CH characters, what advantage is there to being a BE over a CH?? By following their logic that non-CH creatures shouldn't be uber pets, does this mean that we can't add special attacks to creatures that don't have them?? By the logic that this "fix" has been added with this is what will happen (it's only another modification after all).

Your thoughts all??

Well in an effort to try to find that fine line of what's acceptable and what isn't, I ran through my datapad and only came up with one pet that said it was "Invalid":

A CL22 AR1 240 Damage pet made from if I recall Delerious MerekAvenger DNA (has 40 something Kinetic and Vulns or maybe 2% in just a few slots) The HAM is not outstanding 9/8/6 or anything else other than AR1 that's really great about it.

However, I also have a CL23 AR1 with 240 damage and the stats are REALLY close. I can call this pet. The only difference is CL23 and there is onemore resist that is Vuln than the lev 22 one.

The rest of my datapad is 29-39 (also MCH - looking for best pair combo's) AR1's made from a majority of Bark Mite Burrowers/Queens. Have tried a bunch of different (non known bugged DNA) ways to get the CL down on these and never got below 29 keeping AR1 and multiple decent resists. All of these are still able to be called.

Thankfully, I haven't touched the non-CH market.. have some recipes, but was waiting for this fix before going there.

Despite the obvious non-CH critters, what's the cut off between invalid and valid? I've made a good score of lvl 34's & 35's w/ AR1 and 60% kinetic, good remaining resists, vuln to stun and maybe something else and some nice lvl 23's with good damage, high resists(no armor), and varied specials so that MCH's can lay down 6 specials on a single target.. Am concerned where the line is being drawn since it's up to SoE entirely as to what is an acceptable pet or not. If they kill all of my personal combinations that don't use the wonky DNA but a bit of 2nd gen DNA liberally mixed in, I'll be out of the pet business in a day. Or universally despised by my customers, same result.

Anyone on TC found a level that is acceptable for armor, or 10K HAM, etc? Wish this didn't feel so much like a beta at times..

Don't get too excited, I have a level 39 in my datapad that I can't call - no idea why, I didn't use any DNA that was known to be bugged, nor was it sampled down.
