Thread: Holocron Bio-Engineers: All you need to know for your grind
The trick i used to get my sampling up quick
At novice-sample 2 get 2 missions for kaadu's about 200m from each other.
then run between them...when you are 200m away from 1 it resets. kaadu give 140-170xp (female-male)
When you have sample 2 you can sample bolle bols and fambaa's (300-450xp) use the same trick as above (you may need a group to get the missions or a CH)
This way you have a lot of animals in a a small area that gives good xp
Get some friends together before you give up your prior profession and go hunt Kimos' on Lok
Why you ask? how about 283 meat per kill, if you go down by the imperial outpost on Lok you will find dune kimo and enraged kimo all over the area.
in about 2 hours of fighting i could pull in 15-20k meat with my friends helping me collect meat.
hope this helps

Tr00per, the crafting macros do work. I made a variation on the macros.txt that Xanda posted that zoomed me through the med XP req last night. As soon as I find a trainer, Bria will have another novice BE...
I put 4 chem crafting kits in the first 4 slots of my toolbar, then made 4 crafting macros numbered craft1-craft4, each referenceing toolbarSlot00-03.
Craft1:
/ui action toolbarslot00
/selectDraftSchematicxx (xx = whatever number the bio-effect controller revealed itself to be)
/pause 6 (this is where you select your resources. I found a 6-second pause to be comfortable to dbl-click in my resources. Try to minimize your stacks for efficiency).
/nextCraftingStage
/nextCraftingStage
/nextCraftingStage
/createPrototype practice no item
/createPrototype practice no item
/pause 2
For the Craft2-4 macros, change the toolbarSlot number to 01, 02, 03, and place the macros in slots 04, 05, 06, and 07.
I then created a recursion macro for toolbatSlot08:
/ui action toolbatSlot04
/pause 12
/ui action toolbarSlot05
/pause 12
/ui action toolbarSlot06
/pause 12
/ui action toolbarSlot07
/pause 12
(I may have had an additional pause statement here, I don't remember)
It's clunky and inelegant, but it works! Just pay attention to typos and capitalization, and then all you have to do is click in resources and type /dump when you're finished.
*note - I typed some of this up from memory, the parts that weren't available in Xanda's earlier post, so I apologize if this needs some tweaking ![]()
When sampling has anyone ever tried using Vercupti. It's a Chef Food that roughly raises your Willpower by 400 for 10 minutes (depending on the quality of course)... I don't know how it will work for you guys I'm not a BE.... I'm a Swordie/Doc and I know it helps me a lot in combat when I'm constanly spamming skills that drain my mind..... Lemme know if it helps and good luck.
One side note: Vercupti can only be made by master chefs so please don't bug the Chefs out there that are trying their best to get up the tree. ![]()
Wow, thank you guys for the thread. My first holo told me to master BE and I have to admit I'm excited. I created an alt on another server that I had planned to make a BE/CH, but now I get to do it with my main character. This thread will help me with whatever 'grinding' I end up doing. I appreciate it. I promise I'll keep my questions to a bare minimum.
Cheers.
5 stars....Bravo...As an aspirering Bio-Engineer, this is great stuff. DNA sampling is easy, but can be very annoying. I hope that anyone else who reads this stuff, will find it as useful as I did. I bow to you my friend. hehe.

my /nextcraftingstage didnt work!!
Capitalization is important. It's /nextCraftingStage...
On my way back to BE now....Won't take me long...Should have it soon...I did it in one day before...From OC1 to Novice BE...But I didn't do it this time....Spent too much time chatting...That's my downfall.
My chattiness kills my power crafting.
I still can't get any macros working right...so I will just do it all manually....like I did before...
Can't wait to get me teeth into BE...Have one of my guild mates harvesting butt loads of meat for me. heheh
I'd do it myself...But can't grind and hunt at the same time very well...
Thanks for this post. My holo told me to master BE last night. I can't wait to start. I actually enjoy crafting. (I say that now). So to start out, I should
1. almost empty my inventory
2. get a house close to where I'll be sampling to drop items
3. buy or harvest lots of meat
4. I need veggies????
5. start off small, then hit dantooine, "The Planet of Grinding"
I need to pick up hunting IV then I'm all set to start. What do I need veggies for? What are the main differences between BE and say, Pharm IV? I have no idea what a schematic is.
