While these pets are indeed overpowered, saying they are 10x as strong as a wild class 10 is overstating the facts for dramatic intent. They don't even have 10x the Health on a class 10, and that is their highest stat. I think 5x more powerful would be closer to accurate, and even then a little overstated.

Still 5x as powerful is a LOT more powerful. I kinda like maxing total HAM at 3K base plus 1K per level myself and damage to 20 base and 10 per level. That leaves level 10s with 13K to split up (7K/4K/2K) 120 Damage which is at least comparable to the current droid set. Of course we haven't even seen the new droid set yet......

As for the economic havoc these creatures help wreak, well that is a two-edged sword as well. They can definitely aid in bringing more credits into the system, but I believe they are more useful in lowering prices instead of raising them. Sure, you can earn more creds an hour with them, but you burn through more stims and/or pet stims, which makes it more expensive for you to go out on such missions with them. It takes a lot of stims to heal 10K 2 or 3x over. They also help harvest (er, kill) meat more efficiently and quickly, which brings meat prices down. Since meat is really the gold standard in SWG, bringing the price of meat down brings down the prices of stims, food, BE cloths, etc.... Theoretically these creatures could also help attain some of the legendary loot for people who would not otherwise have access to it, bringing down the market value of those as well.

It's all theory, and there are a lot more variables than even we know about. I just don't see these creatures as 10x the strength, or particularly damaging to the economy. Maybe SWG will make spacecraft the credit sink they should be instead of worrying about giving everyone access to space to help rebalance things. I really don't think nerfing these guys will help much.

Of course, if they hadn't taken my poor armored Mountain Krevol, Palmetto, away from me, I would have never gone mad and started experimenting to replace him. Still haven't made that level 10 with armor though. Or a level 15 come to think of it. Wonder how Palmetto would have stacked up against one of these beasties......

I used to keep my nose to the grindstone in hopes of succeeding through hard work and persistance. Unfortunately I have been grinding so long, the stone has burned through most of my face and into the back of my skull.

I'm a little confused here.

I'm very new to BE, and haven't leveled very far yet. I have only been selling pets so far as house decorations because I can't make anything good yet. But I don't understand how I'm supposed to know what a wild creature of a certain level is supposed to be like. The only way I can think of is to get a mission for that level. Well, that's not accurate. I can get a mission that says it's level 32 and the mobs can have 3k ham. Then I can get another mission that says it's level 32 and the mobs can have 9k ham and crazy amounts of special attacks. In the one case, the mobs con white to me, in the other they con red. Which is level 32? Are either of them? When I examine them, I don't see a level. How am I supposed to know all of this? I made a level 3 pet with 500 ham that was invalid.

SOE won't tell us what's valid and what isn't, nor will they tell us what's intended or what isn't. Stating that we can make creatures that are more powerful than wild is very vague. A level 60 pet is more powerful than a level 10, can I make a level 10 with the stats of a level 60? Probably not, but how am I to know that magic point at which I'm somehow cheating the game by combining 5 completely random (they would be for me, at this point) pieces of DNA together?

Furthermore, I've played MMO games for nearly 4 years now, and I have never heard of anything like having to warn someone that a purchase might be nerfed. It is not the crafter's fault if their product is nerfed. If there is an imbalance that the devs have already stated in clear terms that they plan on fixing, then of course you should warn the customer if you know. In this case, I don't know what is considered vaild. I probably still would warn my customers, but I would hardly call it unethical to sell a product that the devs refuse to inform me if it is considered valid.

It's tough sometimes to walk that fine edge between "having scruples" and "taking every advantage given"..

That said, I have made Uber10s for my guildmates- THAT is where I'm drawing the limits. If nerfage happens, they're out a pet and that's it.

I have set my asking price so high on making one for anyone else that frankly if they insist on buying one from me, well, you know what P.T. Barnum said....

..although I'd still try and warn them off.
