A VERY frustrating class indeed, but by far a super duper fun one. I just reached 2/0/3/2 and have about 500k xp for another few boxes. Even at this level I am at now its a huge inprovement from Novice Pike. Im actually really happy with my guy right now.

2) What is your view on Pikeman being such a small community? Do you enjoy Pikeman being a small group, or would you prefer that we were larger in size? (In other words, would you like the pikeman numbers to stay small or grow larger?)

Well numbers help us get things fixed, BUT, I do like the small community and would rather it be small than big. Something about being the little guy in a pack of big guys is fun. Especially when we can hit them with a stick.

3) Do you see yourself as a pikeman in the future? Why/Why not?

Yep Ill be Pike for as long as I can see. Been Pike'ing it since day one. Gun monkey is not in my blood, if I switch it will be for a hybrid, or crafting/selling class.

4) When someone in game comes up to you and asks, "I'm thinking about becomming a pikeman, but not sure. Do you think I should?" What do you reply with?

Well I don't think that it has ever happened to me, but I would tell them be ready for big frustration once you reach Novice, and even more untill you get centine boxes, but it is sure one hell of a fun ride!

This profession is the best, no doubt about it. we got it all; coolness, uniqueness andsweetness

2) What is your view on Pikeman being such a small community? Do you enjoy Pikeman being a small group, or would you prefer that we were larger in size? (In other words, would you like the pikeman numbers to stay small or grow larger?)

It is ok tobe a small community, but I would love to see more pikeMen out there and that means we have to grow in size. Personally I would love to go hunt with pikeMen in a group, and with todays situation that rarely happens.

3) Do you see yourself as a pikeman in the future? Why/Why not?

I see myself struggeling between professions trying to find the best template to suit my pikeMan profession.

What are your skills, and do you love coolness?

I love being pikegirl. Nothing more fun than getting a perfect sweep and watching from third person view while five or six enormous critters go flopping to the ground in a perfect circle around you.

2) What is your view on Pikeman being such a small community? Do you enjoy Pikeman being a small group, or would you prefer that we were larger in size? (In other words, would you like the pikeman numbers to stay small or grow larger?)

Small is good...it allows people to actually get to know each other.

3) Do you see yourself as a pikeman in the future? Why/Why not?

I will always be pikegirl...took me forever to master it, not about to give it up for anything.

4) When someone in game comes up to you and asks, "I'm thinking about becomming a pikeman, but not sure. Do you think I should?" What do you reply with?

Depends on who is doing the asking...I don't think pikeman is the class for the power gamer type, nor for those who only want to solo. I wouldn't get far without my doc friends to back me up. For someone who enjoys lying in the grass/desert/swamp/'insert terrain here'watching the sky on a regular basis as a melee rages around you, there's no class better.

Well, it sounds like the devs might not change the profession then.

If everyone likes a small community, keeping pike the way it is now will ensure that.

1) I like it but there are other melee professions that deal more damage. I seem to live off of doc buffs now in order to use my specials and wear armor, do TKMs need to?

2) Of course everyone thinks small community = elite status or makes ppl proud as they are different and everyone wants to stand out. So, sure a small community is nice but if that means keeping the profession below the standards of other melee professions, then NO.

3) Well, I dropped Master Fencer and 2/3/1/4 of TKA and 3/4/4/2 of Sword and retained my master Pikeman status (now I dont get much AP anymore as there are no Pikemen to train, doh) Keep Master Brawler too (source of all my AP)
I probably will eventually drop all but the defensive line and maybe the combat xp line and master sword and take the def mods from TKA and Fencer. I have used all the melee (will never use TKM as my damage output) and will probably go to Swordsman as they are better suited to PvP and PvE than Pike is now. Hopefully that will change. (Holding my breath)

4) No I dont recommend the Profession. If someone has to ask I know they are looking for something overpowering and this is not the profession. I ask them what they are trying to achieve and usually recommend Swordsman or Fencer and always master Brawler.

That said, please dont let them ignore PIKEMEN just so it can stay a small community. I am reading into this question and I am seeing something that scares me.

I enjoy it greatly. Always have, aside from the occasional rant about missing something 6 times in a row even at master.

2) What is your view on Pikeman being such a small community? Do you enjoy Pikeman being a small group, or would you prefer that we were larger in size? (In other words, would you like the pikeman numbers to stay small or grow larger?)

I'd be glad to see a few more pikemen who actually want to be pikemen, and a lot fewer hologrinders. I like a small community, but I like it more when we all honestly share an interest in pikeman and not just a weapon.

3) Do you see yourself as a pikeman in the future? Why/Why not?

Yes. I enjoy it and see no reason to change. If I want to do something else, I'll do it on another server.

4) When someone in game comes up to you and asks, "I'm thinking about becomming a pikeman, but not sure. Do you think I should?" What do you reply with?

I ask them what they're interested in doing, and tell them the benefits and drawbacks of being a pikeman. Most people who are interested enough in the class to ask at least give it a shot.

Started this profession as one of the mildly riddiculed holo hunters, but i'm very much enjoying myself, and don't miss as much as i expected to. Plus animations are BRILLIANT. Shame if i use em too much i kill myself lol

Not a problem either way for me. Just sometimes hard finding someone to train me. But then again finding an npc trainer was hard enough (One in Kor Vella yay)

3) Do you see yourself as a pikeman in the future? Why/Why not?

Unfortunately i will probably be dropping pikeman to follow the FSCS as i'm primarily a CH. But could quite easily see me returning, because when you hit, you hit REALLY HARD

4) When someone in game comes up to you and asks, "I'm thinking about becomming a pikeman, but not sure. Do you think I should?" What do you reply with?

Try it, you might like it. Someone today decided to try it and hasn't looked back since only because he liked the look of the LVA. Whatever. If you like to be someone who can knock the hell out of air, but miss a barn door from 2m away, go for it. Because at the end of the day it's fun
