Thread: Hey Bio Engineers STOP COMPLAINING

Lets be honest here ... there were BEs who DID exploit this bug. By making pets that had vastly inflated stats for non-CH and then making large profits selling them. The thing is that there were obviously many (all?) BEs who where simply doing their thing with no intention of exploiting the bugs but were using the same bugged game mechanic and so got the same bugged results. That is IMO the only reason we didnt see any bannings because of this mess. It would simply be unreasonable to expect somebody to figure out who was abusing the bug and who was just using the BE tools as they would any other day.

I have respect for those of you who did try to avoid the bugs and make good pets. You dont deserve to be lumped in with those who made obvious attempts to exploit the bug(s). So /salute to you guys.

The line is right where BEs started charging 80-100k for an uber-pet.

This has nothing to do with anything but supplie and demand. People were willing to pay it.

Upset because they were taking advantage of a game flaw? (exploiting)

We're not pissed off about the CL<10 pets made with Nocous Kamurith DNA, we knew those were messed up. We're pissed off about the pets that were made with other DNA that looked perfectly reasonable. for instance I made A CL12 Durni with 6500/4800/2900, 20% resists, and one special with 3 Piket and 2 Gurrcat DNA... It was nerfed. That's what were pissed about. Many of us refused to sell thes Noc Kam pets because we realized that they were to powerful for their CL.

It seems now like more then 50% of the Bio-Engineered pets that were created somehow did not fit into the intended system (which wewere never properly informed about). I think most BEs warned people about the "bugged" pets and thusare not required to givea refund, but what about all those people who got pets that did not look overpowered?!? Now I have to refund all those people, are you going to front me the cash to pay them back?

Here is the direct quote: "12. You will not exploit any bug in Star Wars Galaxies, and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug either directly or through public posting, to any other Sony Station member. You will promptly report such bugs via the /bug command in-game or by emailing [email protected]. Exploitable bugs include, but are not limited to bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits in-game. "

That pretty much sums it up. So, like others have said, It's not the mass of people utilizing it, it's the select few that chose to abuse the system made it bad for everyone. I personally would not be upset if anyone who did abuse this known bug was banned entirely. It's simple, if you break the rules you will get caught and punished.

Without a documented system, no one can say what is natural or unnatural, what is intended and not intended. The Cl10 power houses were clearly unintended and not natural. The CL 23 Cat with light armor and 60% kin is not found in the wild. I would call it unnatural but since we are engineering pets, nothing we produce should be natural, ie man made clones. So the question is, it is intended that I can make a CL23 with AR1 60% kin even though one can not be found in the wild. The answer right now is clearly yes, as I am able to call them post patch. That however may change tomorrow. I can not say if it will, nor can anyone else, since there is no one here that has any clue what so ever, though many may think they do, since no one has recieved any documentation as to how the system is truely suppose to work. All we do know that is there are a lot of bugs and you can make something unintended very easially even if you are trying hard to not exploit.

The true problem here is a bug list longer than the documentation and that is the only thing anyoneknows for sure.

Guys, this fix may have just been to stop the old pre patch pets that non CH's can call. Many of those pre patch pets had a bug, invalid stat, that has been allowing non CH's to call level 50-60 creatures.

This not being able to call for invalid stats on so many pets may just be a side effect they didn'tsee coming of fixing that first bug.

I wish they would tell us exactly what they are trying to fix.

If you go read the discussion on the main SWG forum, there are several posts from Garva. He says that the uber non-CH pets were the result a bug, and the bugwas fixed with today's patch. Fixed as in, no longer able to be made, and no longer able to be used.

As for the higher level pets that aren't able to be called, I haven't seen anything mentioned officially about that.

Nice quote, if you had actually spent some time here the last few days you would know that a large number of people here have reported this to SOE. People have emailed them asking if this is a bug or an exploit. What was their answer?

...................nada.............

All some one there had to say was, yes this is a bug it will be fixed in the next few days. I for one would have held off making pets until it was fixed. As it stands I have to log on tonight with the worry that the CL 10, ~2K HAM ~20% resist pets I made no longer work and I'm going to have a hoard of negative tells. I just try to make people the best pets I can. I work within the system they set up and because they screwed up in the set up some where now I have to pay for it. I don't think my pets were uber. Were they beter than whats found in the wild? Yes, but thats what we are supposed to do its right in our profession description.
