Bah I wrote out that post & now you delete it! ![]()
Am I right in thinking that the main point in your post was more the Star Wars feeling as opposed to deffences & so on, the fact that a good blaster at you side should help you in alot more cases then some big long stick?

Bove, some very good points.
"Carbineer can, rifleman cant unless they get ranged support and thats a weak posture change, pistoleer cant, so that just leave carbineers as the only class that can dizzy/kd without dabbling. Lets look at melee, tk can, pikeman can, fencer can, swordsman can but its harder (weak dizzy from 2h hit 3). And trust me you CANT dizzy or kd a defence stacker."
I won't argue that it's not easier for melee to do a KD/dizzy than ranged. But riflemen and carbineers can do it, as you acknowledged. Pistoleers cannot dizzy a target, true, which is why I didn't say that *all* ranged folks can do it, but they do get a melee KD attack and a ranged KD attack (if they take smuggler). My point was that it wasn't an ability exclusive to melee professions, which many people assume.
Also, I'm a defense stacker and I know how impossible it can be to dizzy/KD someone with the right template. But one of the reasons why my template is so good is because I took ranged skills, ranged professions get some nice defenses. A ranged/melee template will usually be better than a pure ranged or pure melee template.
"You cant be a ranged fighter and have an equal footing defence wise in realation to your offencive power unless you get melee skills, and that is the problem."
That's true. You can get some decent defenses with a pure ranged template, but nowhere near as good as you can get from pure melee. However, mixing ranged and melee is even better than going solely with one or the other, from a defensive standpoint, so it's kind of a moot point.
"If you dueled a master tk master fencer 0040 pistoleer novice medic, you would not win if you used a ranged weapon."
Dueling isn't real PvP.
Also, I have almost that template, except replace master fencer with 4440 fencer and novice medic with master brawler. I can lose against someone with a good weapon who kites and starts the duel from far off. I can also use my master brawler skills (lunge2, warcry2, intimidate2) as an advantage against ranged opponents since all of those skills work at a longer range than my other abilities. But it's not a guaranteed win if they can kite me well enough, especially if they have good armor, buffs, and a really good weapon.

I'm a Bria Jedi.
I'm on the fence right now about continuing, but should I decide to leave once and for all (a reality I thought I'd never face), I don't think I could stomach someone else playing my characters. I'll/tip my millions to a NON-afk dancer and delete everything else.
That way, the bond would be cut and I could move on without the temptation to return.
