Thread: Epic Pets CL 70's and evolving their stats beyond!
i don't see a better place to address and correct outright misinformation, as the average board reader will most likely not bother to sift through this particular forum.
You weren't really correcting misinformation from him. You were quizing him on stuff to expose his lack of knowledge or his BS. Thats a bit different. If his original post said "working specials for strong poison" and you said "specials are broken" that would be one thing. But his OP said nothing about it and you brought it up the topics.
But again, I don't disagree with you on this topic. When I originally saw and responded to the thread in the trade forum thats all I'd seen. I called it as I saw it. At first look it looked like you were just criticizing the guy out of the blue in his own ad. Now that I've seen the other posts like this one I realize theres more to it.
An ad from another BE in the Kett forums advertising pets with good stats for more reasonable prices would do a whole lot to fix the situation.
your idea is noted and agreed on.

break 10k on health yet?
how 'bout 9k?
you might also want to warn your customers that the 'to-hit' and 'defense' values you're advertising have no effect on the actual clone... they, along with armor effectiveness, rewrite according to CL after taming.
Yes yes! To Lammergeier you must listen!
You should try to warn your customers of this bogus occurance. Our very concerned developers (/scoff) have put in some kind of program which nerfs our hard earned pet creations to hell after the second time a pet is pulled from the datapad. There appears to be no way to avoid it.
It essentially turns us into the ultimate scam artists in SWG. Customers think they're getting an uber pet, you think they're selling one... everybody is screwed.
They REALLY need to fix this.

Man,
I go away for a week or so and this is what you people do? I LOVE it!
I haven't laughed this hard in quite a while.
The comparison of rifles to pets had me rolling. We can compare a pet to a rifle if - you have to spam attack 3 or 4 times before the rifle will fire; When the rifle hits a target you cannot target anything else until the first target is dead; When you target a lair and fire, the rifle will continuously shoot until the lair is destroyed, which spawns a trillion animals that attack you directly; You cannot target the mob that is attacking you until the lair is completely destroyed first; And the best of all - the rifle gets stuck in attack mode and cannot be used until you cross a server boundary or completely log out of the game.
Now would you pay 10M for a weapon like that?
I, and many many others, could have out crafted this joker in a heart beat pre-CU. The system is very different and in many ways has been dumbed down. The end product shifts when it is brought to life as well making the deed stats misleading. These are but a few of the issues that made me leave a profession I truly loved. I could have said I was the best master on my server. Instead I offered help to anyone that asked. I freely shared my recipes because, in those days, a few BE's could not supply the entire server with pets. We had to work together.
I never charged more than 75K for a pet either. Oh, I'm a MCH btw, and have been for a very long time. If you are going to market a product, you better make sure you understand your customers. They probably know more about your product than you do. ![]()
Thanks for the chuckle. Told you guys I'd be lurking. And Dor, I've still got your back.
