Thread: The best level 10 I've made to date

Well even though I think they need to be fixedI had to try my hand at it.

Razor Cat

CL: 10

HAM: 11035 / 7840 / 6081

60% Kinetic

Damage: 150-160

Specials: Knockdown / Intimidation

Stopped experimentation and fortitude was literally at 497. Even though this was for my own benefit I do think it has potential. Get light armor on it and put a point or two into aggression and it'd be a nice CL23 triplet contender.

I'll take the one star if people are getting all worked up about it (=

I make these pets all the time, and cannot keep them stocked on my vendor for any period of time

If SOE wanted to nerf them, they would've done it a long time ago. These have been around forever.

BE may be a passion of mine, but it also a business and if I don't stock and create the best pets then my customers will go elsewhere. I don't see the point in creating pets that are inferior to what we can create. It isn't like we haven't felt our share of the nerf bat before, and I'll take every morsel we can get. (=

Oh, and by the way, enraged customers are too high a level to sample DNA from.

I don't even think the people who are doing that are actually reading the messages. Posts on both sides of the issue in this thread are automatically one-starred, no matter what they say. If people were actually expressing an opinion on what they read, then you could expect the stars to vary from post to post, with most posts receiving no stars at all.

I tend to reserve my own one-stars for people who are rude or inconsiderate of others, but I don't hesitate to one-star a flame. I don't use it for simple disagreement. In fact, if someone disagrees with me, I enjoy hearing what they have to say, even when I believe them to be wrong.

The pet validity check issue is one of the most important issues BE's face. If we try to put an end to freely speaking about the issue, then we are in for another horrifying experience like we had a year ago. Our ONLY way of preventing it is to voice our concerns. Granted, that weapon isn't very effective, but it is the only one we are certified for.

Hey, I'm wondering what people's feelings would be if SOE came out and said that the current lvl10 monsters were ok and working as intended, and that there would be no penalties for them. In other words giving there blessing on them.

I think the CH's would be outraged (rightfully so). As a BE, I'm not sure how I'd feel other than glad the issue is settled.

Holy necro-post!

Can't believe someone resurrected this thread. Just happened by the BE forum today...and, *poof*, lookie here.

Well, I retired from BE a really long time ago. I see the discussion will live on (at least until something is done).

IMO,something will be done. Everyone knows that these level 10s were not intended. But, I'm sure this is one of the least of the Devs' worries, and has been so for a long time.

Uber stats or not, the in-game effect of these petsis minimal. They only really help people level...that is, if you choose to level the old fashioned way by running bolle bol missions, etc. (and unless the pet is doc-buffed and you can heal it a lot,the pet isn't very effective). Fact is, there are so many places to grind professions quickly. One doesn't need a non-CH pet to level any combat prof within a matter of a weekend.

The more interesting point, I think, is what will become of these pets with the Combat Upgrade. Suddenly, people are going to need pets again. I am guessing that some type of "fix" for BE pets is going to be instituted shortly after the CU hits.

How bout something totally unrelated that has crossed my mind lately...will this game ever see CAs that give +s to Max Level of Pets? I'm sure the answer is no, but it would be nice to see. I say "no" because it would be hard to believe that the Devs would want players to walk around with level 75 gnorts made from 5 Mutant Rancor DNA samples.

Anyway, the real reason I would like to see +s to Max Level is because one of my last efforts as a BE was to make a narglatch from 5 Reclusive Cavern Spider QueenDNA samples. Well, I did it. Unfortunately, the beastie came out a level 77 lol. Unbelievable stats - 620-630 damage, Strong Poison, 0.62 (or something like that) to-hit, just under13k HAM, and wicked nice resists across the board. Man, would I love to be able to whip that guy out. Alas, all he's been for me over these long months is a really nice footstool in my house. *sigh*

Why? cos a tank that hits as hard as a kaadu is more viable than a lvl 10 they can sell?
a ch can have a light armour pet with equal ham and resists and more damage at lvl 18, when they move up the scale they have pets hitting for 550 dmg every 2 seconds with specials like open wounds or really nasty poisons, i dont see why a ch should worry about these, infact i sold a few to ch's (and gave more than a few away) and they seemed very happy with them.

Open wounds doesn't stick as a special (though i wish it would). the closest we can get is strong disease.

Good question. I think I would stock them. I don't see the uber 10's mentioned in any of the top 30 issues threads on the CH forum. It seems to me that they have enough issues of their own as well as enough advantages with their profession to keep them busy and happy. If we were to compare it with Entertainers and Buff-bots, where a game-legal gameplay action is actively bringing a profession to the breaking point, then I'd definitely think otherwise.

It's obvious the stats of these creatures compared with the stats of the environment are out of whack. Then again, an 85K HAM dragon can be taken down by a 3K Master Brawler / Swordsman / Karate Champ using booze and cookies. Our reality is skewed in how far we are able to push this game.

I think Arthur summed it up well with, "and we want to have confidence that the pets aren't be second-guessed by our peers, our customers, or SOE." If two of those (customers and SOE) are content, shouldn't we be?>
