Mark II Spacebomb and Mark IV Proton launchers are the same in terms of mass and energy drain.
If you aren't running EO3, your reactor is way bigger than you should need. I think you should shrink it and pack bigger guns.

How about a 28k energy reactor with 17k mass. Reverse Engineering for the win!

I recently RE'd a reactor with a gen rate of 35k and a Mass of only 18k. I put it on my Nova and it powers 2 lvl 10 weapons, and all other components are higher than lvl 7. I don't need to use any RO program.
I can't make anything that even comes close to this level ofperformance, so I don't bother.
