looking over the faq it doesnt look like its possible to get 17k mass/16k energy on a reactor but what about a 48k mass/~20k energy reactor?

I believe 15.5k is the max for a Mark IV reactor, but that's without an overcharger. Adding an overcharger should get you to >16k, and the mass would still be within a few k of 17k.

A Mark V maxes at 17.8k + 1.9k, which is just under 20k, and best case mass of 33k+5.4k = 39k. So I'd say yes, given good to great resources. If I was at home I could say for sure, as I think I have some .

48k mass 18.5k energy is possible. Mark V overcharger, 9 points into energy, 1 into mass. Mark V reactor, 7 points into energy, 3 into mass. With great resources, maxing out energy, you'll hit around 19.5k energy 50k mass.

i am a lil disappointed we cant get more power. besides my 2 spacebomb launchers im using lvl 1-lvl 8 components, with my4 guns being the lvl 8s and this is on a bwing but im not trying to load the very best (best meaning all high lvl)stuff on it. thedrain on my guns arent too bad but maybe they are the problem. they are alljust over 2k-ish in drain.

Are you running reactor overload 4? It gives you 90% more power. Sure, it will decay your reactor over time if you do 100% repairs at the station. Just buy another reactor in a couple months. A ~14.5k energy ~8k mass Mark III reactor should be able to power your B-Wing with RO4. If that is not quite enough, a ~17k mass ~15.7k energy Mark IV will do it. To make one like this, tell the SW to put a Mark I overcharger in a Mark IV reactor.

If you can get that to work, post a list of your components with stats including mass and energy drain. You might have an energy hog in there. Crafted shields with Intensifiers and capacitors with heavy batteries are common offenders here.

Have the guns been reverse engineered? I realize finding another 7 guns per final gun might take awhile, but you can usually find a lower energy drain gun to RE with and end up with something around 1800 or less.

As someone else mentioned though, find a reactor overload chip to include in your droid. RO4 might not be necessary, I use RO2 in many of my ships, along with a 14.5k reactor. The only other way to get >20k energy reactors is the occassional loot, some go up to 50k or more, supposedly. Rarely.

i didnt really want to rely on programs but i got a reactor made 44k mass just under 18k energy and using reactor overload 3 it can power everything.

i did plan on eventually getting re'ed guns but not now.

Are you running EO3? Since you went so big, I would say yes. A B-Wing fully configured with crafted parts running EO3 needs about 26.8k energy (13.3k before engine overload). You need a 16.8k energy reactor to provide that much power with RO3. A Shipwright with good resources can make you a Mark IV reactor that produces 16.8k energy for 20k mass.

If you are willing to run RO4, you can run an 8k mass Mark III reactor. I bet you can do a lot with 36k mass.

no i dont use engine overload, really no point to it i think in a bwing. although my reactor is my heaviest part i didnt think it was so big considering its power. my shields then engine would be the next largest in mass but theres no worries since everything fits. i do use cap overload and weapon overload sometimes and the reactorhandles both programs running.i might be getting rid of my spacebombs and go with mark4 protons. in terms of mass and drain how different are these launchers, potentially?
