NOw for my master swordsman on scylla i buy BE brandy 430 for 35 mins, arisha at 80k pr crate 375 for 36 mins, and canape 700+ at 99k pr crate. I asked the chef who made them why he sells it so cheap and he said : I make one hell of a profit selling it at 99k pr crate why should i gauge people. He is the sole reason food is down this low on scylla, and it proofs that chef actually make one hell of a profit

I agree completely. I also think you'd be surprised. Most of the forum regulars will agree with you about not selling their schematics.

I always refuse to sell schematics. I didn't work my way up to Master BE to give it all away.

Just tonight I had two people /tell me to find out if I'd do schematics. One of them even had the cheek to ask "Do you charge for doing schematics?" ... You mean some complete doofus is giving them away?? *sighs*

I was out hunting Avian Bone and a guy came up and asked me if I could help him. "Depends what you need." I replied... yep, he wanted a schematic - middle of the Naboo wilderness and I get asked for a schematic - sheesh

I don't do schematics for others- I will never do schematics for others.

Maybe some of use BE's should become Chefs temporarily and sell the brandy for 175k or something.

I was thinking exactly the same thing :]

Oh, and just to follow up on my last message. There was recently a post in the Bria trade forum where a new BE was advertising his store and his chef additives at the type of prices you'd see on other servers (hell, he may have even gotten his pricing ideas from coming to this forum and reading what other BE's were charging). So what happens? He posts and the other BE's raid his thread, telling everyone how lame his prices were relative to theirs. So this is not just the case of some people "charging what they think is reasonable" it's actually a case of actively trying to ruin the market for others.

Maybe the detractors are actually Chefs who have BE as a sideline?

No, it was me jumping all over him. He messaged me in-game pretending to be a buyer but he was just checking prices. Never could stand that sort of deceit.

Yeah, I hate duking it out with Itoh in this price war that essentially has me selling flora resources at 5cpu. I started out selling supplements at 40k/50k/75k a crate, sales were strong and chef loved the amount of stock I could supply, I made a heaaaap of cash (16mil to 70mil in one week). Then everything came to a screeching halt for 2 weeks. I said "OK, maybe the chef rush is over," and dropped to 25k/30k/35k a crate which a lot of chefs were asking for on thier forum (never had looked at what other BEs charge up to that point). Sales were strong again for a couple weeks then completely stopped once again. Word filtered down through the grapevine Itoh could stock just a much and was at 25k for mediums. Even Co'hen, one of the big-name chefs on the server who setup shop just 300m from mine because of how well I kept him supplied and has become good friends with me, was buying them just because they were a few k less. I decided to make it difficult as hell for him to make a profit and dropped my mediums to 17k a crate, with similar reductions on heavies and lights. It worked for awhile and he disappeared for a bit so I went back up to 20k a crate and then 25k. Two weeks ago things came to a screeching halt again and ole Itoh is back selling at 18k a crate. And in the end, brandy is still 200-250k a crate and wouldn't be even that low if Co'hen hadn't come on the scene to compete with Sinison. Well, I'm out of the supplement business once I burn up some rancor meat. Now I'm a chef and I'm loving the 30k profit per crate on crates of brandy for 75k. Sorry for the mostly off-topic post.

Damn, meant to include Arthur's post where he says "You know who you are."

I bet you don't realize that in the retail business its common practice to send ppl into competitors shops posing as customers to check everythingincluding price, variety, layout, and their staff.

Its not deceit. Its good business practice.

Of course I realize that, where I work we have to watch out for them all the time and we show 'em the door when we find 'em. In the same vein, me belaboring his high prices compared to others is good business practice.

Yea, congrats on your ruthless tactics. This is why I said, that on Bria there's no longer a reason *not* to sell schematics. Makes a hell of a lot more sense to sell a schematic for 100k then to make a batch of tissues at no profit.

Yeah, never did believe in being friendly to the competition. For the longest time I wouldn't even train other BEs. Besides, with all the good shifts of rancor meats we've had, I've got millions of meat I bought at 15cpu. With a .33cpu flora cost from harvesting my own resources, that made a cost per crate of 8k. 360k per full run x 13 factories every 2 days was pretty good profit when chefs were still buying actual supplements.

Lozareth you are basically the crafting version of a greifer imo. You are selling your crates of 12 point enhanced foods for less then you even sold the additives for not long ago. To all the BE's out there, here is my question. How does a chef on Bria compete without getting a schematic made when there are people like lozerath selling finished BE enhanced chef foods in crates for 35k, less then a lot of people charge for just the BE additives alone? There are always the people in this game that forget that "Community" is the backbone of the entire game here, and doing thing to damage the community for small gain to yourself is kinda pitifull.

Hello,

i also strongly oppose the opinoin, that a BE (i am BE on Starsider) hands out schematics for chefs.

Even tho i havent been asked for schematics alot from chefs i agree that the prices of additives are rediculous. Chefs make unbelievable amounts of money making food (was a chef also), adding 20 fruit and 20 berries,20 cereal and 150 crys gemstone to our additive.

Do the math for 1 crate of brandy25 items (flora at 15 cpu, crys gemstone at 5cpu):

a BE additive: lets say 40k credits

1500 Flora: 22500 credits

3750 crys gemstone: 18750 credits

Factory costs: well almost none, lets say 1k

that evens up to around 85k credits.

A brandy will sell at around 200k leaving 115k credits profit.

We BEs get, well, not that much of it, lets seeour costs for a medium additive (numbers used from above):

1500 flora: 22500k credits

500 meat: 7500 credits (also using 15 cpu)

So we make 10k profit.

Odd isnt it...

Well either the chefs cut their prices or we have to raise ours...

And I know many gonna hate me for that, but why not making an alt for your BE buddy on a different server making chef schematics for him and vice versa?

That way you get the chef profit.

I think the whole thing is out of control and i strongly suggest that trading schematics shouldnt be allowed at all as it can be abused too much.

Let the chefs make the food, but dont make it possible for them to force us BEs into lowering our prices down to almost our factory costs...

I dont intend to oppose anyone with this post, just showing that the system right now is not working anymore...

I dealt with a lot of nice chefs and i dont want to take away their fun in this game, but the pricing right now is rediculous.

Anyway, i stop making tissues at all, i enjoy crafting pets a lot more.

So now you can flame me for the stuff i wrote
