Aye...and actually Breath of Heaven, which all chefs can make is way better then the wine. Mando wine is nothing more then a novelty item at best.

I agree that we need chef quests and content.


I mean we could perhaps have a chef quest in which you made a meal for Jabba the Hutt. You'd scurry around getting the components and make it for him. Assuming Jabba is pleased he'd reward you with a new schematic. Perhaps the schematic could be changed on a quarterly basis, so that you could go back and do it again later to get something else.


Or perhaps the Emperor or the Queen of Naboo hold a banquet. You'd need to prepare the meal, and present it to them for their satisfaction. Get a new schematic. ( Or perhaps another reward like a valuable food experimentation tape )


Just some ideas.

Been a Carbineer for a year and never asked to FOTM, just want profession playable. What i like to add to your new weapon idea is this :



change damage type from kenetic to blast ( more like a shutgun ), damage was good enough, heavy AP ( again close range, slow but damaging weapon, also inaccurate )


Only master carbineers be allowed to use it, very low accuracy at 30+ to a point where u almost never hit the target. Make the speed 5.0-6.0. much like a rl shutgun. I mean i jusy dont see why not, it will add more fun to the game, its not going to unbalance the game in the way jawa rifle is doing. We are not asking for a uber stun damage weapon. I just like a heavy AP for close to make ourself more useful in pvp and pve.


Just note that carbineers is totaly useless right now, specialy without BH boost. Both in pvp and pve, so something needs to be done very fast about it.

I really like this idea. Its right up there with chef aprons for wookies.

Well I must correct this.....the Ranged Defense for 4444 Carbineer is NOT ZERO, it is +2 and Master Carbineer is +27.....might as well be zero

Oh and in my list above since I can't edit the aprons need to be fixed for wookies.....it is unfair to our wookie crafters. ( Or perhaps an alternative added for wookies that does the same thing )

My issue is that I get my mind hit -- I have never lost a fight on health or action. I have no mind attack except for SCATTERSHOT, and that's random. Once a TK or Rifleman get the DIZZY/KD combo, I can't get back up. There goes my mind pool -- even after muon, mind buffs, brandy, and synthsteak. Come on.


TK / Melee hitting me at 20 meters? How about some Dizzy / KD defenses or remedies plus some ability to target mind pool. Buffed TK or TK / Doctors (which seems like everyone is) run their mind pool to 0, and I could incap these guys if I had a concentrated mind shot. Why does BH get CONFUSION shot and we don't as Master Carbineers? These Master Professions should be able to kill any other Master Profession -- Carbineer is a sub-class of Combat professions, and it is in need of dire help.


So for me, Master Carbineer is a profession which is relegated to a support profession. I can put states on opponents while my Melee team mates run in. I can bleed them, dizzy them, stun them, blind them. But I can only rarely solo-kill uber players without support or FEIGN DEATH interludes.


Master Carbineer is the most STAR WARS'esque profession asides from Smuggler. These are the two weakest combat professions, and I chose both to supplement role play -- which is only achieved through effective combat engagements.

You're correct and thanks for the clarification TA.

I was comparing the defenses gained from the advanced professions themselves without looking at the prerequisite skills.

The point remains that a beginner fencer can defend ranged as well as a Master Carbineer in addition to defending melee. Every other profession has defenses throughout the skill trees, we get one chunk at Master and then only for one type of damage.

My thoughts on Carbineer:


Things I like:

1.The weapons.

2. The states and postion changes you can do.

3.I like the concept of cone attacks (if you want a 360 degree attack, look into your Marksman box and there is one there).

4. I am a BH so speeds do not bother me as much as a sole Carbineer which is weak and underated by its self.

5. As I always mention when I am being mocked by a Melee profession "The Carbineer is the best PvE class there is. We just suck in solo PvP. Carbineers are support people...we are not the morons running into the fray wasting our armor...btw how many suits have you gone through in the last month?"


Things I dont like:

1.The Master BH hasbetter state effectsthen a Master Carbineer.

2. Weapon Choices suck: Energy, Heat & Acid.

3. I would like to see the following: (mixed with BH)

4. At Master Carbineer give us a new weapon type one with Kinetic, cold or electricity.

5. At Master Carbineer give us a new special...every class but us have one. Hell Some classes have 2+. I would like to see something powerful like Unarmed Attack 3 or the MBH special. Idea for Carbineer Special:


Fumble Shot:

Disarms a players weapon (puts it back in there inventory).

Carbineer is the counterpart to pikeman i believe.

pistoleer - fencer (high def, low offense - health hits)
carbineer - pikeman (we seem lost, should it be medium def, medium off? - action hits)
rifleman - swordsman (low offense, high damage - mind hits)

I don't see how i fit in with the system. If it wasn't for the NS pikes then pikeman would be lost too i think. We don't have medium off or def due to lack of defense and speed.

On a wider scale buffs and armor negate us due to the inabilty to hit the mind. I want to wreak havoc with action, thats "our" bar and i want to own it. Our weapons will not punch through armor at the moment.

A good carbineer can overcoma alot of these problems and make you think we are good(we also don't whine alot). But we shouldn't have to overcome these unless other have to also.

I personally believe a stun weapon is a mistake, and will just detract from the areas that the system needs attention in.

in my opinion i don't think we need a stun weapon to fix most problems in pvp. it's the 90% comp armor that makes our weapons near useless.

I also would like to see sum new damage types in the brawler trees, like a cold weapon so we can tank Krayts a little better. Also, an actual fencing saber for the Fencer prof. that would be kewl.
