Reptile with my ranger like i said on Lok doing Smething with a V and the snakes.... (cant get missions btw) it took about 1 1/2 hours to get 3k nearly 4k or meat from them... its hard to find the dang buggers too.


Avians are typically easy to find and lots of time there is missions.... so i think avian is easier...


Domesticated I would think cause the creatures are bigger with a ranger in tow or a good droid you could do a fair share of harvesting...

All I can say is the Dev's must not play the game or care about the Player base. Resource requirements 10 fold of the current schmatics and crated components 3 to 4 times the current requirements. I can't see anyone crafting meds at any decent quanity or at a price anyone will reasonably pay. I will bet that 90% or more of the current doc crafters will either respec to a combat profession or quit entirely.

I like reptile meat harvesting on Tatooine. All dewbacks and worrts have reptile meat so you can just get missions for the various sizes of these according to what you can kill.

Thinking about it tho...it doesn't matter how much u harvest now...A (fairly reliable ) friend told me that in the CURB if the creature is of a lower level than you, I believe you only get 1 unit of resource from them (I can't confirm this myself as I dont have time to log into TC with all the uni work I have on). Assuming that you do only get 1unit from creatures of a lower level, and that creature 5 levels bigger then you will kill you...doesn't leave much in the way of possibilities for harvesting.

Something like avian or domestic where the creatures are obviously going to be of a lower level than a ranger's level is going to mean that avian and domestic can only be harvested at 1 unit per kill

I hope he was wrong...cos if not...creature resources are DOOMED!

Resources are tied to creature level, also? I didnt test that so far, but I guess I should. If this is the case, this is a major bug.

I did get more than 1 unit when I was harvesting lvl 1-4 critters outside Mos Eisley on TC. I forget exactly how much, but I did get more than 1 (like 5-6). It would be interesting to have a lvl 80 combatant and a lvl 5 newb kill a kreetle and see if they get the same amounts...

He's wrong, that's 100% false. Creature harvests are tied to creature level, but are independent of your level. So a CL 1 creature will yield 1 unit of resourse and a CL 20 one will yield a lot more.

The flavor of his post has merit though. Let us say pucs give great meat in the current spawn.Can you imagine how many pucs you would need to kill on Talus in order to get enough meat for a factory run if they only give one unit of meat per? At least in live they are easy to kill.


Ittakes the same amount of time to kill a lower level animal, regardless of the type. If you are CL50 and you're killing a CL1 animal it still takes as long as if you were killing a CL10 or CL20 or CL30.I did the dishes while I was killing yard trash to make stims. With little or no combat, which is typical of a BE, I came close to dying on many occassions. For my effort I got one unit of meat per critter.


This makes the game tedious andinsanely boring. Considering I can't afford to purchase meat, the cost of tissue products are going to go through the roof based solely on the time it takes to collect the resources.


The "hate" system compounds the problem. If I sic my animal on a critter I'm free to watch TV at my leisure. If I shoot the animal with my rifle the animal breaks aggro with my pet and runs up to me. The animal also brings its friends along with. I'm going to spend a lot of time in the cloners. Maybe I should set up shop there.


I'll end up making everything with eggs and milk and fish because I don't die collecting them.

Many things have changed in combat, but I don't think this is one of them. If you kill a kreetle on "live", and harvest it, you'll get 1 unit of resource most probably. If you kill a paralope on talus, you'll probably get a handful of wooly hide but no more. None of that has changed. I think really the only change in that regard is that on "live" right now, if you pick up the novice marksman box, and have no other skills, you can probably go out and safely kill CL 4-5 creatures (and get a proportional amount of resources from them), wheras on the CU, you'll be killing CL 1-2 level creatures until you get a box or two into the skill tree. That I think is pretty much the only difference in regards to harvesting. For more specifics on harvesting differences though, I'd probably visit the ranger forum and see what they have there. That's primarily their department.

Arthur ... while I do not in practice disagree with anything you say ... I *think* that I have never gotten less than 3-4 units of anything from any creature that I have killed on live ever (except of course babies). The reason that I know this is that I was struck by a. only being ABLE to harvest 1 unit of meat in a dungeon (that was a shock) and b. when we went to TC-EP3 - I was shocked by how much lower the harvest rates were for meat on the critters I was killing.


I know this is more of a 'feeling' than anything else, but if you check swgcraft for my name, you will see that for a fair amount of time I was leading in contributors for animal resources on our server so I think my gut feeling on how much you can harvest from small/medium animals is fairly accurate (used to do a weekly sweep of all planets).


That is sort of by the by. I've not played on TC-EP3 for a while but I'd like (like everyone) to see an increase in the amount of resources harvested. It seems a funny thing to do - cut down the amount of resources that you can harvest while having just supplied people with transferable veterans rewards to get any kind of resource they wish. (Not funny for the hunters really)
